Hi all,

First time staying offsite and I'm ordering breakfast, beverage and snacks for our family's trip in two weeks. Ordering from Garden Grocer.

We don't have a car ~using uber ~so I thought it easiest just to place the order with GG so I'm wondering if there's anything you would recommend that I order that I might not think of?

For instance is the coffee ok and can I get more at the front desk for our weeks stay?

We will do a couple loads of laundry~ should I order laundry detergent or is the detergent they give you ok?

Should I order fabric sheets?

Thanks for any tips you can offer. I'd like to place my GG order tomorrow.

For most of the small essentials, we just bring our own. I bring a few laundry tabs and dryer sheets in a ziplock bag - takes no room in the luggage. We might do four loads tops in the week, and we like our "normal" brands. If you order too much from GG down there, then you are bringing it home and taking space away from souvenirs or just leaving it behind.
We bring our own coffee in a small tin as well, mostly just because we like our own brand. We also bring a few pleated filters packed flat. Not sure about WBC and providing extras, but I've never bothered at our home resort as the pre-packed coffee is never great.
We bring a travel salt and pepper too. Resorts generally only provide you with the little packets for sanitary reasons.

What I would do is make a quick meal plan for those things you might eat in the unit, and order to the plan. You want to end up with no leftovers to bring home or throw away if you can avoid it. If there are things you need in small quantities (sugar for coffee?) pack a small baggie with a few ounces from home, and don't get stuck with a 2lb bag down there.

Do you need things like paper towels, dish soap, shampoo, soap, etc or do they give you sufficient quantities of those for a week?

On our last stay they provided 1 roll of paper towels, coffee for 2-3 mornings, a couple of hot chocolate pouches, one bag of microwave popcorn, tiny salt and pepper shakers, a small bottle of detergent to hand wash dishes, a couple of packets for the dishwasher, a couple of packets for the clothes washer (no dryer sheets) and regular hotel size bathroom items in each bathroom. There was plenty of toilet paper. Personal preference, but we get a roll of paper towels, small Clorox wipes, cheap paper plates, aluminum foil and quart size storage bags with our grocery order. Most are for convenience, but the aluminum foil is very handy when using the gas grills and to cover things (don't buy plastic wrap as one small roll of foil gets us through without buying both). The paper plates really save on the dishwashing as we use them for breakfast, sandwiches etc.

Awesome thank you just the info I needed!

We also reserved the teal bin so any extra foil will go right into the bin.

So so excited first family vacay in three years!

I believe the coffee pot took the cone type filters and there were not quite enough for the week, but there was more filters than coffee.

Pleated coffee filters? Do you mean the basket type?

Great info!!

Are there any cleaning supplies provided?

Also, does anyone know how much it costs if we wanted to get a mid-week cleaning? I hate cleaning on vacation!

First, GG does not deliver anywhere but Disney Resorts. Sorry to throw that monkey wrench into the mix.

Part of staying at WBC is being able to have groceries. If it were me, I would avoid GG. I know you don't have a car, but their prices add up quickly. Since you are using Uber anyway, I would just Uber over to the Super Walmart (maybe $10 each way). Pick out your own stuff, maybe get some nice souvenirs and pool toys, and Uber back. Yes, it is about $20 and GG has a delivery fee also, but you will probably save at least that much from the GG prices.

I agree...and you can Uber over after you see what's in the pay it forward box you're getting and after you see exactly what the condo has, so you'll know exactly what you need...

Probably, although to me basket can mean the bigger basket (pleated filter) or the smaller Melitta type basket (cone filter). These filters can be pressed flat and tucked into your suitcase. We actually only bring them when flying to a timeshare stay. When we drive we bring our full coffee grinder, fresh beans, and French press coffee maker. Much prefer that to coffee maker coffee.

GG does still deliver to Bonnet Creek. We used them in April and confirmed they still deliver even though it doesn't say so on their website. We have also gone to Wal-Mart on our own. Next month we are using We Go Shop and they will be shopping for us at Publix. Our flight arrives after 5 pm on Good Friday and I don't want to deal with shopping in a strange store on what could likely be a super crowded holiday weekend. We Go Shop works a little different than Garden Grocer, but is a similar service.

No cleaning products. There is a vacuum cleaner and carpet sweeper etc. in the closet. Last I checked the one time cleaning fee was well in excess of $100, but I cannot remember exactly.

If you know what spices you will use while there, pack small amounts in one of those seven day pill boxes. Spices aren't cheap and you won't have to pack them to take home (or leave them). I tape the lids down and put the whole thing in a ziplock bag. Takes up little space in the luggage.

Does anyone know exactly what type of filter the WBC uses? Basket? Cone? size? Thank you!
