After reading a few posts about groceries, I think it might just be better to buy food at the resort store and spend a little extra money for this convenience. If I go directly to the store myself, are the items offered the same as the resort fax order lists? Or do the general stores have a little more of a selection than these lists?

Yes, there is a lot more stuff than is listed. Still not a hugh selection but more than on the list. The prices are the same you just don't pay the $5 delivery fee. If you are flexible and go with the flow you will not starve. If you are picky with brands, selections, sizes, etc. save yourself the trouble and shop elsewhere.

Thanks. No, I'm not too picky at all. It's not so much a selection of brands as a selection of items/a little variety that I care about. The fax list just seems kind of limited to me--not in terms of names but item numbers. So from what you say, this doesn't seem like it will be a problem. BTW-are some general stores better than others or do they all pretty much carry the same stuff?

Have you considered internet grocery shopping. We always purchase our dry goods via the internet if we are flying to WDW. It is relatively simple and the shipping charge is offset by the sales tax savings.

Where can I find a copy of the resort's grocery list?

Robin, I'm renting points. Can you post the list or send me a PM?

Everytime I am in a DVC resort store I think one is better than the other but have decided they have the same stuff just merchandised differently. The biggest thing is everything is in very small sized. Mayo is like 2 or 4 oz. Beverages are single serve 12-20 oz or three 2-litre Coke products(reg, diet, sprite). The bread is white or wheat Arnold, there are lots of Entemann's pastries all that are reg. size and reg. prices. they have lots of snacks and there are more canned items than are listed. They also have laundry supplies and some toiletries. The best store on property is at Fort Wilderness, but then there are lots of people camping and I'm sure the supply and demand is better. Happy planning.

Thanks for the help. Maybe I will try Netgrocer service for the non-perishable stuff and combine that with a little trip to the store for sodas, fruit, etc.

BTW-Robin-how do you get NetGrocer to deliver to the villas--do you specify a delivery date at the Netgrocer site and just use the resort's main address? or your name c/o resort name?
