Grocery Delivery

I'm obsessing over grocery delivery! In looking at the services, it looks like Amazon Prime Now has more of what we want. We arrive at 11:30, assume we won't be at BLT before 1:00 p.m. via MEX. I hardly ever hear of rooms being ready early, so we were planning to grab lunch at Contempo Cafe after check-in and then probably head to EPCOT. I'm anxious about paying a fee for them to deliver it our room and coordination of that if we're not there. We're going as a party of 9, so I'm ordering a fair amount of stuff. I could pack ready to eat breakfast for our first morning, and just order it on the second day when we sit down to brunch at CM at 1:00. I figure by the time we're done with brunch, it may be there and we could meet them in the lobby and carry it up ourselves. What do you think? Help me stop over thinking!

Stop overthinking. Can't you set up a grocery delivery time slot? If so, put your items into your cart before you get onto the plane. Once you've landed, order the groceries and pick the time slot that is 2 hours away. Once you get the items, if your room isn't ready, bring them to Bell Services yourself and let them know what needs to be refrigerated.

$6 for the delivery isn't a bad fee to pay for them (Bell Services) to deliver the groceries to your room when you are there.

Also I think you only pay the fee if Bell Services delivers. I believe they'll still store the delivery for free.

When we were there in May we were charged the $6 fee, even though I picked it up while checking in.

I don't think $6 is too bad, but I had read somewhere they may charge you the fee per box!

That's for mail/packages delivered. Plus the convention resorts may charge more

With Prime Now you can set a time slot. It was super easy. Last time I put everything in the cart while I was while I was on my lunch hour at work on the day of our departure. Once we were at the airport and I was sure our flight wasn't going to be delayed, I set the desired delivery time. We had an evening flight so I didn't have concerns about our room being ready. If I had I just would have set delivery time for later.

I have also used Instacart and done the same. The cool thing about these as opposed to Garden Grocer which have also used and also love is you can do same day delivery. I used Prime Now during our last trip when our initial supplies (from Instacart) ran low. I was trying not to over order (which I had tended to do) and didn't order enough. Of course with the fees now I will be working harder to get it right.

I would grab your time spot when you know what you want. We made the mistake of trying to grab it the afternoon of our Friday flight and all slots were taken and we had to wait until Saturday to get our delivery. Not a huge deal, but that delivery included our breakfast so we should have picked the time when I knew. We stayed at CBR in April and they did not charge us anything and they kept it cold for the entire day until we picked it up. Very easy! If you have lots of heavy things, you may want to have them deliver it unless you have some way to do it yourself. We had a couple of cases of water and had to use our stroller to lug it to the room and then carry it up the steps to the 2nd floor. In hindsight, I should have just paid for delivery.
