Please describe your experiences using grocery delivery such as reliability, recommendations, price vs. eating in restaurants.

We get the meal plan with one snack, TS, and CS. We try to get breakfast stuff and snacks for the room, drinks for the room, water for the parks. Last time my MIL lived in FL and met us there with a grocery list. This time we want to know if it is a good idea to order some cereals, snacks, water, beer, for the room.

Thanks everyone.

5 star recommendation for Garden Grocer. Perfectly reliable and prices were decent. Downside delivery charge and tip. For us both those cost were worth it because we place decent size orders. I do not think the added cost would be worth it for small orders.
We order breakfast and snack foods along with some dairy and fruit.

As long as you have a decent size order it it great. In 2011 we went to Florida just for 4 nights for fall break and we were visiting Sea World so staying in one of their hotels. The hotel had free breakfast each day and I'd purchased the meal deal for Sea World, so I really didn't need enough to justify it even after adding pull-ups for my son. The delivery charge was going to be 1/3 of what I paid, so I just packed his pull-ups and bought snacks along the way.

But whenever we go to Disney we stay at least a week and I love Garden Grocer. We have gone with and without the dining plan, but I still love having groceries delivered for evening snacks and having milk in the room, having stuff to make breakfast with when we don't have a breakfast ADR and want to get to the park early. I love having lots of drinks because with only having 1 snack credit a day I don't want to use it on a bottle of water or a juice for the children.

Plus it is nice to have drinks and/or snack breaks in the park without standing in a line first. I just pull something out from my bag. We usually do afternoons at the pool and need lots of fruit, drinks and snacks. My children's favorite cereal also isn't in the food court.

They have been reliable. I'm usually either on Magical Express or in line at the resort to check in when I get the text or call that they have made the delivery. Never had anything go wrong or anything missing. I'll be using them for the 4th time in May.

We had the same dining plan and honestly we only had to pay out of pocket for a meal three times and that was mostly because we had two signature dining reservations that took up 2 TS credits each. Try to plan what you will eat each meal. The only thing I found we needed other than that was some smaller snacks (granola bars, ect) that we packed in our bags (which left room for souvenirs on the way home :) )

This for us. We almost always use Garden Grocer because we need things like diapers and wipes in addition to breakfast food and snacks. Since we usually don't have a car, it makes sense to place an order with them. They are reliable and prices are ok. Obviously more expensive than just driving yourself, but if you don't have a car cheaper than renting one.

We generally don't get the dining plan, but even when we do, we get use Garden Grocer. We tend to get things we can eat in the room for breakfast (cereal, milk, muffins). We also get drinks and bottled water for the parks. Fruit, cereal bars, string cheese, chips, cookies, goldfish, etc. to take to the park for the kids and also to eat at the pool. This cuts down on the cost of snacks in the park and at the pool (we still get some of those too). I think it is cheaper than buying these things at the hotel or in the park. If you are on the dining plan and don't have a large party, it might be cheaper just to grab cereal/muffin at the food court each morning if breakfast food is all you want than to pay the delivery fee. Plus, I think there is a minimum order of $40.00 or so...

Another 5 Star for Garden Grocer! Very Reliable, Variety of brands to select and the cost of items are not much more than we pay at home. Also, we add some beer and wine to our order to enjoy on our balcony after our kiddies fall asleep :thumbsup2

Thanks so much everyone, I appreciate all the perspectives. We are there for 8 days, with no ADRs for breakfast, so I am thinking will be worthwhile. Just have to make sure I don't over order and end up with stuff left over. :rotfl2:

I used orlando theme park shoppers and loved them. It was less than garden grocers and my order was last minute.

I used Garden Grocer's and I recommend them! Delivery was at our hotel upon our arrival. Cold items are kept cold for you. Order was correct. Saved us a lot of money in comparison to purchasing water, various beverages (other than soda with the refill mugs), snacks, fruit, breakfast items, etc. at the hotel shops. A small cup of grapes or mixed cut up fruit at our hotel was $3-4. I was so happy I ordered fresh fruit through Garden Grocer's. The delivery fee & gratuity was worth it for us.

We always go over the summer, and we always place an order with garden grocer.

I get 2 cases of water (5 of us for a week, that works out just about right). I also get some juice boxes, breakfast stuff for the room, fruit and park snacks. (Goldfish, pretzels, I forget what else.)

Having the breakfast and snack stuff on hand frees up some of the DDP snack credits... instead of using all of them on breakfast, we can get a Mickey Bar or Dole Whip or whatever.

It works very well for us.

We have used Garden Grocer numerous times and have not had an issue.
