Hello,

Has anyone had groceries delivered to the room at DVC resorts?
How do prices compare?

Just checking, in the past we have brought our own food. Now we need more room for "stuff" in the car. That's how it goes with 4 kids (19,15,11,9)

Thanks

Prices are pretty comparable and it is very convenient. I have used Garden Grocer. DVC has a small list but you can get much more from GG. We bought things mostly for breakfast(cereal, milk, butter english muffins), water for the parks etc. Definitely worth it. We had no problems with that service at all.

I am seeing a fuel surcharge though currently on their website. Also they may have raised their pricing. Maybe other grocery delivery companies won't have a charge.

If we have a rental car we ALWAYS use Super Walmart for food, it s just more economical. However, like the other commenter here, we have used garden grocer and they are fantastic. Sure, prices are a little higher than normal grcery stores, however they do have sales and store brand items. The food is always fresh and they deliver timely, Good Luck, we are going to VWL next month and will probably use GG then as well!!

:dance3:

We always have a car and usually make a grocery run to Publix or Winn-Dixie. But I did use Garden Grocer one time and got spoiled. My order was exactly correct; it was delivered in the time frame we agreed upon; and they called shortly after we arrived to see if everything was as I expected. I would use them again.

It depends on the length of our trip :confused3 short weekend trip and we just buy at the "general store" at the resort. But on our long trips  we order from wegoshop.com absolutely LOVE them! You can pick the store and your "usual" brands and make this home away from home even more like home! The ladies at wegoshop will bring you the receipt from the store so you can see the actual cost of the items. They will also take advantage of any BOGOs or other store specials to save you money!

Good luck with your decision and have a magical trip!!

We just returned from Kidani a couple of days ago.

We ordered some basics from the Garden Grocer and it was waiting for us at Bell Service when we arrived.

This is the second time we've ordered from them and both times our order was perfect.

We only ordered a case of water, 12 pk. Diet Coke, 1 case of Bud Lite, Sliced ham, sliced turkey, bread, cheese, mustard, cheerios, milk, and a couple of Chef Fabio frozen dinners.

It is well worth using Garden Grocer if you do not have a car. We use Magical Express and we will use GG every time.

Good luck with your decision. :)

I have to agree that this service where ever you choose is very convenient and all around great!

We have used wegoshop for probably 5 years. They charge the store price (she gives you store receipt) and you pay the shop and delivery fee which is very resonable.

We are always very happy!!

****Im not going to waste my vacation ime shopping for grocerys

We had a bad experience with Wego a few months ago. We have used GG several times and will be using them for all our future trips.

Used garden grocer on my last trip. They were wonderful! They dropped off my food on time. They called to let me know it was there. When I didn't answer my cell phone they left a VM and they even sent me a text message to let me know it was there waiting for me. Yes they were a little more expensive. Yes there was a fuel sur charge, yes there was a minminum you had to buy but depending on the how long you plan to be there, how many are in your party ect it is well worth it. And me personally I will use them again in a heart beat.

We just head to Publix when we arrive and check in. Or should I say, I head to Publix. I'd rather do it myself because they have such great stuff at Publix, I'll wind up getting things that I wouldn't have on my list and that we'll wind up really enjoying. Now that I know my way around and don't go by the Outlet Mall and Mary, Queen of Peace, it's even better.
