Hi there. Will be checking in to HRH on 4/2 for 5 nights. :goodvibes
I am thinking about having water, juice, beer and snacks delivered on our arrival date via GardenGrocer.com. They have a $40 minimum and a $12 delivery fee. Do you think it will be worth it to do this? I have a tentative cart set up and the total comes to about $40+. I ordered a foam cooler too, knowing HRH does not have a fridge but does have ice makers. I don't know how much waters, etc will cost at the hotel store/Emack or at the parks. I was thinking of bringing water and snackies into the park for the kids. Any ideas?:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
Thanks!

Do you mind me asking how you will be arriving at HRH? If you're coming from the airport and using a towncar service, most towncar services provide a free 30 minute grocery stop. That's what we've done on our last few trips.

We will be arriving via Mears shuttle since we do not want to bring car seats for our kids. Also, it seems to be more expensive to do the car hire than shuttle (for us it will be a total of $81 MCO-HRH RT). So that is why I thought of doing the dlivery service.
When we went to WDW last year water was $2.50 a bottle - and we went through about 4 a day. I don't know what beverages cost at UO or IoA - if they are cheaper I may cancel the grocery order and just pay there. As for snack, we can always just eat (so the speak) the additonal cost of buying from the resort or the parks (unless it is WAY over priced) and I have no way of knowing that.

there are some car transportation companies that charge $100 for the round trip plus a free 30 minute grocery stop. they provide car seats at no charge.

you need to call the hotel and ask them if they have a charge for holding deliveries if you are going to have the garden grocer box sent before you arrive. i read a trippie where a person had to pay for the holding of a package there.

if you are having the delivery made while you are a guest there, then, it is not a problem.

i was nailed at the disney resorts for having a package held for me until i arrived. they are charging to hold items prior to your arrival.
i'm sure universal hotels could be doing the same.

it's just a heads up for you.

Hi Macraven.

Thank you for the heads up -can you PM me regarding which transportation companies charge the $100 with the free car seat? I would actually prefer to do the 30-min stop if possible. That way I can eliminate the $12 delivery charge, too.

our transportation company is charging $55 from the aiport one way with a grocery stop and they deduct $5 off if you pay by using paypal. This is for 5 adult sized people. I can give you the name. Its less than $100 r/t for 4.:cool1:

i did send a note to the poster that wanted the name of the car service company but did not hear back from her.

there are 4 companies i could recommend that are good for the price, meaning cheap.

the dis has banned the names of some of the car companies i use, therefore, we can't post the names of them openly or in a pm.

the one lisaanddenny listed must be murray hill.
i have used them also before and they are excellent.

Hi mac.

I just PM'd you. Thanks for your help! I'm always looking for a good deal. And with little kids - HRH was a splurge so that we could be spared the driving/car seats, parking fees associated with a theme park vacation.

there are many car services that will do a free grocery stop.

Fl Tours
Murray Hill
Quick Silver tours
Happy Limo
******
Tiffany

I only listed the ones i am personally aware of.
There are more companies that do a free stop but you can't go wrong with any listed above.
