Last year, we didn't do any...but I would like to have some items delivered this time (OJ, water bottles, gatorade, juice boxes). 1) does DLH allow it 2) Is Von's the best place to go through?

I have never had groceries delivered but I know a lot of people get them delivered from Von's. I think when you sign up you can even get a code for free shipping. I've also heard that if you have amazon prime you can order from something called Amazon Pantry?

We used Von's for our grocery delivery to DLH for our trip last September and it was great! We ordered the night before to have it delivered in the afternoon. We checked in around 10 am and went straight to the parks. By the time we returned our order had arrived and the bellman brought them to our room. The belldesk has no problem signing for your delivery, however I have heard if your order includes alcohol you need to be there to sign.

We used amazon prime pantry and it was perfect. Had it delivered to the hotel, no problem. I did call before to check, though. Bonus for us was we used the big, sturdy, shipping box as a stool for the kids to reach the sink in the hotel room.

We always use Vons delivery - your first delivery should be free and if you're staying on property I know they refrigerate your perishables (milk, berries, etc) until check in for us.

We usually get a whole case of water no matter how long we're staying because the Anaheim water is SO bad and refill our Swell bottles with it in the morning. If we have leftover water bottles we give them to the Bell Desk/Valets and they're always appreciative.

(on a separeate note Swell has THE BEST water bottles! http://www.swellbottle.com/product-...free-insulated-stainless-steel-water-bottles/)

I love arriving at GCH and having my groceries already there so we can just go to the pool and not have to worry about driving to a groc store.
I should work for Vons because I promote them to people so much :daisy:

We ordered from Von's our last trip and had no problems. We stayed at the Disneyland hotel and when we arrived at the hotel our order was already there and we had milk, they stored it and delivered everything to our room it was great.

I'm trying to get groceries delivered for tomorrow and Sheila at the DLH tells me I have to be there to sign for the Von's grocery delivery, even if there is no alcohol. So we have to wait around for them to deliver? How does this work?

Unless it's a recent change, I think Sheila at the DLH doesn't really know. Many people have reported that, unless the delivery includes alcohol, they will accept delivery for you. I would call again, and ask to speak to a supervisor, maybe.

Now, as to whether they will hold it for you, or actually put it in your room, is hit or miss.

You don't need to be there. Choose the delivery time window on the Von's website and they deliver it. They do NOT deliver into your room, the bellman can bring it up if you're there but we usually have it delivered around check-in time and pick it up with our luggage.

Sheila is wrong. We get Von's every trip and have never been there to sign for it.

Ok I called the DLH again, this time got Denise. Denise said Sheila was wrong, and I COULD have Von's deliver to the hotel and that we don't need to be present to sign for it (no alcohol). Denise said once we check in, to call the Bell Desk, and a bellman will bring up our food. So I placed our order online. We've been to DLH lots of times and always have to stop at Target on the way in, which is such a pain, so I'm hoping this works out easily! Thank you for the tip!
