I have read a bit about Wegoshop and Garden Grocer.

Do either of them or any other delivery service deliver meat? Say we want to grill chicken or steaks-can we order from them? Garden Grocer does not seem to have a meat section listed (unless I am blind).

I have never used Garden Grocer, but I have used WeGoShop several times. We have had meat delivered as we often cook full meals in the room. We've never grilled, but we've done things like sloppy joes and chicken caesar wraps in the room, and all our groceries have come from WeGoShop.

Garden grocer has a meat and seafood section or just type the name of what you are looking for in the search box.

I've used WeGoShop a number of times. She purchases whatever you put on your list as long as she can find it at the store you ask her to goto. Note: there is no item markup, but rather you pay the actual price plus a service fee. She'll pick up on sales and if an item is Buy one:get one free she'll take advantage of it for you. I Really like her service, my son loved the extra bag of cookies LOL.

We have used GG and WGS and prefer WGS. DW ordered a roast from GG and they marked the price up $10, it still had a Target price tag on it.

Like others have stated, Garden Grocer has a meat and portly section. We have ordered from it several times. If a item is not listed then just note it in the notes section and it will be delivered..smjj

Yeah, I'm not a fan of GG either. Won't open those wounds again - I'm just done with them.

We also use We go Shop. Easy to make our list, easy service, and she'll keep under a budget if you tell her what to cut. We chose Walmart as our store as that's the only one we know from home. She called and said she went to publix instead so she could get us better prices; she was right!

We also got extra cookies and chips. :). Our water was BOGO so we only had to pay for one.

We just used WEGO shop two weeks ago at the BWV's. I had to meet her at the valet and pay. She then gave the groceries to bell services who escorted me to my villa. In the past I met her in the lobby and she brought the groceries to the villa and unloaded them and checked the items off the list. I am wondering if they are no longer permitted to accompany the customer to the villa. I actually prefer having bell services bring it up eve if it involves an additional tip,

This is why I prefer Garden Grocer. We can pre-pay online when we order and then schedule a delivery time for around the time our plane lands...they just leave it with Bell Services so that when we check-in we have Bell Services bring our groceries and our Owners Locker to our vila. If we happen to arrive early in the day and the villa isn't ready yet then it's no problem - Bell Services keeps the cold stuff cold and we can just go to the parks or whatever and retrieve the order whenever we DO get our room. Couldn't be any more convenient.

You can do something similar with WGS...you just have to give them a credit card number, and the groceries are at cost + the cc charge (2-3%) and the delivery fee. When they drop the groceries at bell services they do add a 10% tip. I really like WeGoShop for the flexibility and friendly service. BWV will not let them deliver to rooms anymore, so I assume that is true for any grocery service except Disney-owned.

Yes, but GG does not charge this extra 2-3% service fee to use a credit card. And personally I don't want them to come to my room. I don't want to wait around on the delivery. I prefer to just get it delivered to Bell Services before we arrive.

You still pay the fee in their inflated food prices. WGS doesn't mark up the food price and she gives you the store receipt.

Another plus is that she will shop at any local store that you like so you can save even more at Walmart but you can have her shop at Target or Publix if you like those brands.

Yes, but WeGo gets ya on all of their fees whereas Garden Grocer is a flat fee regardless of the amount you order. I realize that GG marks their items up but I live in an expensive area and have compared their prices to what I pay at home (at my local grocery store) so I know it's a wash in the end by the time you add in all of WeGo's fees. Also, we prefer to have our order left with Bell Services. WeGo charges a whopping 10% extra to do that!! :scared: Why is that? That's absurd! And while WeGo may shop at different stores for you, if you have them do that then they'll charge another $5 fee for that. How much do you really save in the end? It's like all the fees the airlines charge for this and for that. You can't keep track and they nickel and dime you....I like that Garden Grocer is a flat fee regardless (unless you go over $200) and they don't try to screw me if I want it left with Bell Services. Personally, I prefer the simpler method.

Fees from WeGo Shop's website:
Shop & Delivery Rates:

Grocery receipt(s) total up to $50.00 = $18.00 shop & delivery service fee

Grocery receipt(s) total between $50.00 - $100.00 = $23.00 shop & delivery service fee

Grocery receipt(s) total between $100.00 - $200.00 = $28.00 shop & delivery service fee

Grocery receipt(s) total between $200.00 - $300.00 = $38.00 shop & delivery service fee

Grocery receipt(s) total over $300.00 = 13% of grocery receipt(s) total, shop & delivery service fee

Additional Fees:

Shop from more than one store - $5.00 per each additional store

A gratuity of 10% of the grocery receipt(s) total will be added to all orders that are left at bell services

From Garden Grocer's website:

Minimum Order $40
$14 delivery fee ($2 for orders over $200)

We just used WGS three weeks ago. There was not a 2% charge for using a credit card, and she did leave them with Bell Services (I really can't abbreviate that :rotfl:). We price compared our list with GG, and we came out ahead even with the delivery fee and tip. That may not happen for every person, but it did for us.

The 10% is a gratuity, not a "fee". If you don't want to tip for service, then, yes, you have to be there in person to stiff.

PS Different strokes for different folks. I appreciate the service and the way WGS does business. I have never tried another delivery service, so all I can do is recommend a service I liked. I think you can say positive things about the service you prefer without badmouthing a different service.

Great info. Will be using one of these services in August. Typically how far in advance do you need to place your order?
