Grocery budget ?? Do you include these items in your weekly budget??

Ours runs through doortodoororganics.com. The box price includes delivery... part of the trick to getting a good deal is to always log in and play with your order a bit. For example, they will offer to send us 8 oz of strawberries but we can substitute it for 3 pears, which are worth more to us. Then every week they will have a few things on sale. We have been doing a delivery every other week, which is the same price as the weekly. They also sell all kinds of other stuff- rice milk, canned and boxed foods and miscellaneous organic... it's convenient but most of that is the same or slightly more than in stores.

You can also look into community supported agriculture. There are farms that will let you pay a set amount and you can go pick up a box of produce every week. My brother gets a great deal that way- but he has a group of friends and they trade who picks up and split a HUGE order.

Thanks! It looks like that service is offered in my neck of the woods. I'll have to consider that. It's a good deal on organic produce.:thumbsup2

I have a family of 4. Me, dh, dd6, and ds 16 months. I include diapers, paper products, cleaning products, etc in the grocery budget. I will post the actual amount spent each week for the last 9 weeks.

1. $43.94 (10/15)
2. $86.52 (10/08)
3. $78.90 (10/01)
4. $47.08 (09/24)
5. $104.33
6. $31.31
7. $77.00
8. $64.23
9. $96.32

I use coupons and buy everything on sale!

ETA- If you cook from scratch, you can save a ton of money by not buying prepackaged, processed foods. It's healthier too. If you need those items, only buy them on sale and with a coupon. I make my list before going by looking through the circular. I can sometimes find coupons by searching online for a particular item I want. Before using my coupons on 10/08 my total was $130, that's after price plus discounts and before coupons. So almost $50 saved by paper and computer coupons alone!

We include paper goods in our weekly budget. Under $100 per week for a total of 2 adults (we're vegetarian and buy mostly organic)

I am not finished yet!!!! BUT YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!! WOW!!!! Also you are so lucky you can do all that cool stuff with coupons!!! We cant do that here.....:sad1:
