We are spending 10 days at All Star Sports and would like to know the what is the closest store to purchase sodas, bread, etc... We will be flying down and will not have any transportation other then Disney transportation. Thanks love this site
I don't know what the closest store is but have you decided on how you are getting from the airport to WDW? Depending on how many of you there are, it might be worth getting a town car (we used tiffany towncar) that makes a grocery stop.
You might also consider an online grocery service such as Goodings, Wegoshop or Netgrocer.
I've used Netgrocer on my past few trips. They are more expensive than your local grocery store but still much cheaper than relying on onsite groceries. You place your order a week before your arrival and your groceries are waiting for you upon check-in. My order is usually under $50.00 so netgrocer is good for me. From what I've been reading, if you plan on purchasing a lot of groceries, wegoshop may be better for you.
Netgrocer, Goodings and wegoshop all have websites. Check them out and see what works for you. All 3 have been used by DIS members, search the boards and see what others think.
I've also utilized the free grocery stop included with the town car service. It works well if you dont have a lot of things to pick up.
I second the town car option or rent a car for 1 day returning it to the Swan. If you need a lot and want it to be a quick Towncar stop, use Albertson's. You fax ahead your order, they shop for you and than you just hve it rung up (no fee for shopping).
Here's the info:
Kate @ Albertson's, Orlando
Fax: (407) 857-0132
12981 South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando (407) 857-5666
6:00 AM to 1:00 AM 7 days a week
Located just north of 417 at exit 11.

Not sure if they all offer that service or not, best bet is to call and get the "attention to" person for the fax. I love the service as you can give specific brands (or store brand) and get everything from fresh deli, produce, bakery & a nice bottle of wine.
Hi,
I've heard there's a decently priced grocery store off disney property, but close enough to walk to. Somewhere near Downtown Disney.... Could this be true?
That way, a taxi , rental car, towncar service is not needed. Just the disney transportation back to the resort from downtown dis.....
Any ideas?
Thanks
If you are planning to buy just handful or items (bread, milk, soda, etc), it might be worth it to check out DVC/home away from home resorts (OKW, BWV, WLV, BC, Ft Wild, SSR) . They have more stuff than the rest of the resorts I think. And of course you can expect the price to be higher than regular stores but calculating how much you'll spend on cab and time, it might be worth it...
Just a thought. Last year i made a large box of snacks and things(peanut butter, gold fish crackers, bagels, peanut buttter, juice boxes etc) and mailed them to myself prior to my arrival. You can always pick up milk etc. at the resort store usually not too pricey and send yourself cereal. I would suggest sending it at least 5 days in advance and marking the box DUE TO ARRIVE ON and the date of check in clearly noted on the box. Also be sure to send it UPS as regular mail usually goes to a Disney distribution center and may cause delay of your package. This worked out really well for us and saved us alot of money. Good Luck!
