using Instacart through Publix was HORRIBLE for us in October. Never again
Wow! I'm so sorry that was how your trip began... it sounds dreadful and I can understand exactly why you wouldn't want to use them again. It's always helpful to have people share their experiences... the good, the bad and the ugly.We were at the BCV and used Instacart from Publix delivery on Saturday 12/07/2019. It was HORRIBLE. We are going to report them to BBB.
The short story.
We scheduled our delivery for 5-6PM Purposely as Villas often are that late to get in. We went to Epcot for a few hours while we waited for our Room ready text
When I returned to the Villa at 4:50 ish I saw that I had 3 missed calls from Instacart at 4:08, almost an hour early. I called the number and I was told I was a No Show. AND I was charged full groceries AND a $15 fee.
I will not go through the long back and forth with customer service, but they were HORRIBLE. I was told there was nothing they could do, even though I was calling them BEFORE 6 PM.
Long painful journey short our order was delivered at 8:30 PM, again 30 minutes ahead of our agreed upon time of 9-10 PM. Luckily we were back from our ADR.
To add insult to injury, I had ordered 2 6 packs of Diet Pepsi bottles. When delivered one was Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi.
We will never use them again. We will use Garden Grocer as we have in the past. With all the fees added by Instacart that you never saw until checkout, they ended up not much less. It was not only the fact that they charged me as a No Show nearly an hour before our agreed upon delivery time, but more so that Customer Service was so bad.

Just an FYI. I did share it at the time. And what I posted above was copied from the Grocery Delivery thread above that I also posted.Wow! Hopefully the rest of your trip made up for the bad beginning!
Horrible story. Add me to the list who will only use Garden Grocer going forward. I’d always used GG since 2007 until this January when I tried Dizzy Dolphin. They put in countless substitutions, most of which were lesser quality than the brands I ordered. Iceberg lettuce instead of romaine, cheap, disgusting ground turkey in a tube rather than the lean ground turkey I’d ordered. I could go on and on. It was a six hundred dollar order with many substitutions. The substitutions made a huge difference in the quality of the meals that landed on our table. We were at the BCV and used Instacart from Publix delivery on Saturday 12/07/2019. It was HORRIBLE. You may want to check in advance if the hotel gift shop carries the items you want. You can find the grocery pre-order checklists at https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/faq/pre-arrival-checklist/grocery-order/ , which should give you a good idea of what's available in the DVC hotel shops. If you just want a few things... just stop at the hotel gift shop. The grocery prices are higher but not ridiculous, you won't have fees (Instacart) or a minimum (Amazon). If we just need a bit more milk and cereal, we go that route.
This is an excellent point. If you want only the most basic of groceries, the gift shop prices are in line with Garden Grocer. You may want to check in advance if the hotel gift shop carries the items you want. I noticed they no longer have an online order form for VGC. Not sure when it was removed, but there are forms for all other DVC properties, including each WDW location, Aulani, Hilton Head, and Vero Beach. I did online chat with DVC just now and they confirmed with the hotel that VGC does not offer pre-ordering of groceries.
