Good Morning,

I've been away from here for quite some time but will be heading back in July. Can someone refresh my memory with the name of the service which you can buy groceries prior to leaving and have them delivered to you room? Also, does this service deliver to the Swan/Dolphin?

Thanks a bunch everyone!!!!
Laura

We used Garden Grocers. No complaints about our order.

Swan and Dolphin do NOT allow outside vendors to deliver groceries to those resorts.
The 2 most frequently used are wegoshop.com which I would highly recommend staying away from. I had horrible customer service with them
The other is www.GardenGrocer.com and I highly recommend them

They will not allow the delivery? That stinks. Any recommendations then as we will not have a car this trip and cannot get to a store.
Thanks!

Yes, It is the resort that will not allow delivery there.
Your choices are very limited. You could shop for basics at the Screen Door General Store on the Boardwalk or you can taxi/Uber to a grocery store, or you can rent a car for just one day right from the Swan/Dolphin to go to the store yourself.

I looked into deliveries, but they are expensive in my opinion. Since I am picky on my fruit, I would prefer going to the store myself. I think we will just Uber to a grocery store and back. It is about $20 RT. Garden Grocer is good but it is not on the cheap side either. You pay the delivery fee and higher prices for products.

I am not sure what you are looking to buy, but the Hess station in front of Boardwalk has some basic...the biggest would be beer. It is within walking distance and may be a small option. I still think Uber to a grocery store is the best bang for the buck. At $7 for 1 beer, 1-way Uber is saved.

Yes, I was thinking that Hess station as well but couldn't remember if I could get to it without walking on the main road. We are going to be there for eight days for a dance competition so we do not have any dining plan, etc. Just wanted some basic breakfast stuff and water.

Thanks everyone!!!

You can definitely walk there. Take the bridge over the river to BW, then through BW to the Hess station. It is not too bad. IMO, it is still better to just Uber to a grocery store. The GG delivery fee of $14 is about the price of Uber. Like you, we want to get breakfast items, snacks and drinks. A 12-pack of store brand water is over $5. Looking at store brand water, it only cost $2-$3. 8-pk of Bud Light Alumibottles is $14. It is $7 at the Hess station. Not only are they getting you on the delivery, they are getting $2-$5+ per item. It is about $8 1-way Uber. Then pick out what you want by seeing it and save about 50%.

Great!!! Thanks so much!!! ;)

What exactly are you looking for? The Swan and Dolphin do have packages to stock your room with beverages/foods. If you have a reservation there, if you look at the concierge assistance button you can get to what they offer. I didn't think some of the options were ridiculously expensive. You can also walk over to the BW or BC to get a few items. I think the best kept secret is the case of water for $6 in the Disney resort gift shop. We normally buy the big L bottle to keep in our room and it was cheaper on our last visit to just by the case.

It's not Hess any more. It is the Speedway gas station now.

The general store at the Boardwalk hotel also has a lot of different grocery items.

All I really care to stock up on is water bottles - Which Disney resort gift shop did you find a case of water for $6? (If we are staying at the Swan, where's the best place for this?) Thanks!

They are actually $6.99 + tax.

We do a car service ride to the dolphin that has a 30 minute grocery stop

Is there any particular car service company you use? I'm thinking about doing the Walmart grocery pickup thing, but wasn't sure if I was going to Uber or rent a car for a day, or what. Any info would be much appreciated.

At the end of the day, Uber is only about $15-$20 RT. Renting a car adds a whole new level of complications for just 1 day. You have to get the car, refill tank, return the car, deal with insurance, drive, and it will still cost more than an Uber trip. Uber drivers are always nearby and will cost less than a rental for a day.

I used Anthony Hinds last year for our Universal/SeaWorld trip. Since we arrived so early in the morning WalMart was our grocery stop. Would use him again.

We used Safeway delivery. They had to meet us at the Custom House at CBR. We were told that Disney will not allow them to go to the rooms. Was kind of a pain as it was raining and had to take the internal resort shuttle to get there. Had three cases of water and some Power Ade included in the delivery. Bell services agreed to take us to the room in a van with the groceries.
