Groceries/Cooler at Value Resort

Hello,

We are planning a somewhat last minute trip for November. We are hoping to get a DVC dedicated reservation rental so we have a kitchenette. If we don't and end up with a value reservation, has anyone every brought in a cooler and kept it stocked with basic groceries (milk for cereal, fruit and veggies, etc)? Has anyone ever done this or is it possible in a standard room? I would think we'd just refill it with ice in the evenings?

All rooms at Disney hotels have at least a small dorm sized refrigerator.

We've actually done this, just not at Disney. It works just fine and usually easier to fit things in instead of a tiny fridge.

Yep, all the time. Pretty much, if we travel I have a cooler along.

Sometimes I drive and stock our good (but very heavy) cooler with one-meal portioned homemade dinners ready for the microwave. The last one usually doesn't thaw until our trip is almost over. The secret here is to open the cooler as little as possible. I also pack it as tightly as I can, filling in any open spaces with frozen water bottles.

Other times we use the fridge for our perishables and keep things like drinks, condiments, etc. on ice in our packable collapsible cooler.

If you're going to be doing meal prep in the room:
Don't forget d/w liquid. When I fly I saturate sponges with Dawn, let them air dry, and pack them in my bag.

I also pack a roll of paper towels, ziplock bags, a microwaveable bowl and any spices I'll need.

Thank you all for the quick replies! It sounds possible, so we are going to try it. :)
