Groceries at Downtown Disney?

Hi all,

Will be staying at POFQ this fall, and am trying to figure out how to best stock up our room with (mostly) breakfast food and the like. We will NOT be renting a car, and plan on doing Magical Express to/from the airport.

I was wondering if it would make sense to take the boat from PO to DTD and pick up some supplies there - only not sure what would be available food-wise.

Even if there is just a convenience store to pick up some milk and OJ, that could be okay. Although if that's the case, I suppose it would make just as much sense to get Goodings (or whoever) to do a delivery the night we arrive.

So my main question is: does DTD have groceries and/or convenience stores that are reasonably convenient to the boat?

Thanks in advance!

I dont recall seeing anything at DTD that would fit that description.
You could take a cab to goodings but they are relatively expensive so you may do just as well onsite.

POFQ should have basic items too.

I would recommend Pop Century Food Court because they have a nice selection of market items and their prices are very reasonable. I recall seeing milk eggs juice cereal bread etc.

There are some delivery services such as www.wegoshop.com that is highly recommended and would probably save precious time.

Toadman99, just send those item to whichever hotel your staying at via UPS or FEDEX. This way is the easy way I have found and its alot cheaper then shopping at Disney.

DTD used to have the Gourmet Pantry but has been changed to the Earl of Sandwich shop.

There is no place at DTD to buy groceries/supplies.

I found that a box of donut balls and a pint of OJ from the guft shop along with milk worked out fine.

We also used a town car service to the hotel and we requested a free grocery store stop which helped!

We stayed at POR in Dec and had planned to go grocery shopping one day because we had a rental car but at the gift shop they had a little "grocery" area. We bought a bag of bagels (1.39), 2 full size bags of chips (around 6.00), and some cookies (2.50). The prices did not seem that much out of line. (Granted at home I use coupons and shop the sales but not knowing if those items were on sale and I didn't bring my coupons I figured that was normal prices). We had vouchers that we used for lunch or dinner (You can't get these any more) but we would get milk or juice for breakfast the next morning and use our mugs for soda with dinner or lunch at food court.
They have microwaves and toasters in all the food courts that you can use. :cool1:
