There's a rumour (complete with concept art) which suggests that DLRP are thinking about adding a copy of the Grizzy River Run attraction from California Adventure at Disneyland (well themed river rapids) into Frontierland behind the railway station.

This would presumably be in place of splash mountain, so what do you think?

My own thoughts are that I'll be surprised if this goes through - one of the key objections to Splash has already been how wet you get on Splash, but I found I got a lot wetter on GRR than I did on Splash.

It would be brilliant if they did :cool1:

Not that I know anything about the ride but it sounds fun

There are plenty of wet rides in England at Alton Towers, but they've installed these big dryer things that blow hot air out to dry you off when you get off the ride. Maybe they could just put a few of those in too?

I know a new ride is being discussed at the moment but my friend wont tell me what it is....damn him :lmao:

Is there a Splash Mountain in DLP?

I didn't see anything about Splash Mountain and assumed there wasn't.

Am I wrong and there is actually a Laughing Place there?

Hi, i was discussing what new ride they should put at dlp the other day me and my mum think they should put a water ride in she feels that the more she gets wet the more fun she is having lol. my mum always wants to climb out of tram tours when all the water is coming down over the train. i understand they have the weather to consider but how much fun would it be to have a water ride!!!

Cheyenne July 2006
Cheyenne June 2007
Cheyenne Sept 2008
still planning 2009

I would totally love that ride. Also i have no problem wahtsoever with getting wet. You get wet on the Grand canyon tour and on Pirates of the Caribbean if you sit in the r4ight place which i always try to as i think it makes it so much more fun.

There isn't a Splash Mountain at DLRP yet but who knows in the future

We got wet at Legoland in March one year, it was absolutely freezing, needless to say when we returned the following day we purchased the plastic ponchos before riding and were fine. :)

It would be great if they did have a water ride, my friend and I love them!!

We often dream that they could install a Jungle themed ride similar to Pirates of the Carribean but with a few more deeper drops, you don't have to get totally wet but the thrill of going down the drops is wonderful!!

i personally would prefer the splash mountain, it has alot more themeing than the other

(watched the videos on you tube btw)

Grizzly River Run was ok but really nothing special. Splash Mountain on the other hand is one of my faves so I'm still hoping for that one myself!

Although I think Grizzly River Run is a great ride (far better than Kali River Rapids in AK at WDW IMHO) I think Splash Mountain is more of an iconic Disney park ride. I don't think the wetness factor is a problem, like a previous poster said at Alton Towers they have the huge dryers at the exit of their rapid and log flume rides. If they were to build a ride from another Disney park at DLRP I would much prefer them to build a version of Soarin (although this would be better suited to the studios), a Soarin over Europe ride would be really cool.

In terms of the wetness, I'd hope they design it like the Tokyo Splash Mountain, which has boats built to reduce the splash as the visitors don't like getting wet (in comparison to the visitors in the US).

The thing about GRR is that they seem to be able to alter the ride so that you get less wet during the colder months. Maybe that's why they'd look to do that in Paris instead of Splash Mountain, which always gets you the same amount of wet.

As great as a new ride always is, I would still much rather they pumped the money into the further expansion of the studios and building another ride there. Crush's coaster is constantly packed, and needs another ride of the same calibre to draw some of these people away, or at least get it to a point where fastpass could be intergrated into it effectively.

Jeez, can't believe it maybe because of the kind of colder climate and the scare of getting wet, in Scotland we've got a water ride at a local park and in the summer it's usually just above freezing.
