Gringott's lockers and solo riders

I have read several times that you get in line for Gringott's and at some point they send one person in your group to the lockers and then that person gets to rejoin their group further on in line.

Does anyone know how this works for solo riders? Do you just lose your place in line or do they have a way of getting you back in line?

Also, can you wear a fanny pack on the ride without having to go to the locker?

As a solo, you would lose your place, but its not like you would have to go to the end of the line, just merge back in where the lockers are. You can wear a fanny pack, but I would only suggest a small one. Mine, for example, really would have been too big. it if you could lift it above the lap bar or push it to the side, it would be allowed. I did cargo shorts the day I rode Gringotts as a solo rider, so no lockers at all! I just had my ID, park ticket, room key, credit card, some cash, mini comb, mini sunscreen tube, a couple Advil in a plastic bag, my camera, and my phone. Now, my camera is pretty small and with a clip I attached the strap to a belt loop, so if it fell out of my pocket, I still wouldn't lose it. But it takes SO much better pictures than my phone, I wanted it that day.

For single riders you just put your stuff in a locker before getting into the single rider line. However small fanny packs are allowed.

Thanks. I will try and see if they let me on with my fannypack. I think I can lift it above the lap bar. If not I'll just have to be OK with losing a little time in line. After my first ride I can do single rider and will make up some time that way. Luckily I'm going after Labor Day so it should be slightly less insane then.

By the time you get to the ticket giver in the stand-by line, you would have been in line for quite a while. Get to know your line neighbors and say you'll be right back after you go to the locker. People will understand.

That's a good idea. I tend to make friends in line on my solo trips. It's one of the things I love about traveling alone. Maybe I will stick with my shoulder bag- I hate wearing fanny packs.

It is one week until I leave for my WDW/USO trip and I have reached that point where I am obsessing over every decision because if I have the wrong bag *the trip will be ruined* OH NOEZ! Once I get on my trip I chillax and it is good to be informed and have a game plan, but I catch myself at this point and have to laugh at how worried I am over something that might add *minutes* to my wait.

Thanks for the info everyone, I relax much better when I feel like I have some idea of what might happen.

Where 'exactly' you are in the EFG stand-by line is not very important. When you get to the corridor before the 'elevator' you are pulled aside to have your photo taken in one of about 6 booths. Once you are done and go back in line, the mass of people around you are slightly reordered and then you go en mass into the elevator and get reordered again. Don't stress about keeping your place in line.
