First Universal trip in 3 days. We are big HP fans but not thrill riders are there chicken exits in Gringotts? We'd love to see the queue but I don't think any of us can handle the ride

Thanks!

Yes, they can get you out, you might just have to step over the coaster to the exit.

It's really not as thrill based as you'd think, Think Spiderman on Wheels!

I agree, other than a very small drop at the start, the only thing to worry about on this one is motion sickness from the simulators and the moving from screen to screen.

Ditto to both PP; it's actually less intense than Spider-Man, IMO.

There's an official chicken exit before the stairs to seating, or you could go up to the seating area and there's an exit there, too.

No climbing over seats needed.

I found it to be a horribly rough ride, mainly side to side. It killed my ribs.

Also, really boring. Re-watching the movie where you see the inside of Gringott's (movie 7? 8?) the other week made me sad all over again for what COULD have been with the Gringott's ride. Oh REAL coaster, how I wish you existed...

I'm not into scary stuff (don't do hulk, space mountain, duelling dragons, rip ride etc) and I read your post and thought what could be considered scary on gringotts. Honestly nothing registered as scary with me at all.

There is a small drop at the start but as long as you know it is small i.e you are not on a massive rollercoaster you will be fine. The rest is just going along and seeing stuff.

+1 for more coaster and less screens but only if no loops!!! A coaster that looked like a giant dragon and you are riding on it's back! Out of the vault and through the roof and over the water!

I think the end of the ride is its weak point. You have all this great entrance and middle then deflated at the end. But overall it is a great ride and very advanced. I think Universal was making a thrill ride that can please most people without being to extreme.

When the ride starts, the car is held in a vertical position for a few seconds and you can see where the track levels out after the first drop. It's only about a 10 foot drop. You will be fine.

That's exactly what I said the first time I got off of it--I think they wanted something a little tamer than FJ, so more people could enjoy it.

But I also agree it could've been better with more physical elements (I really wanted the waterfall to be real) mixed in with the 3D. Flying out of the roof would've been awesome! But I think it might've detracted from the dragon on the roof.

I did all the research and told my wife she'd be fine on it (The Mummy is at the extreme limit of what she can handle - took 2 crying rides over 2 years before she really started to enjoy the Mummy). Then right before the elevator they have the warning signs proclaiming that {paraphrased} "This is an extreme high speed roller coaster with sudden drops ...." and her eyes got wide as saucers before they started shooting daggers my way - she wanted to get the hell out of there immediately.

I told her the internet can't be wrong ;) and she said she'd trust me. Thankfully the warnings are grossly exaggerated. She had no problem at all on Gringott's. It's more "Men in Black" than roller coaster.

I think I must be the only one that hates the drop at the beginning (but I hate drops of any kind). It's not bad enough that I won't ride the ride, but its the only part of the ride I didn't enjoy. I was glad it was at the beginning so I could get it over with and really enjoy the rest of the experience (which was awesome).

OP, I am about as big a chicken as they come....ET and the Trolley Train are definitely my speed  . But I was able to ride Gringotts and enjoy it (all but that dang drop).....in fact, the balance of the ride was so much fun we rode it twice in a row. You may want to reconsider giving it a try :) .

We are all so different in our views.......we don`t consider it a drop at the beginning as it`s so short.....it`s more a curve........
