So, we only have 1 day, staying at VGF in Disney. From reading the last few weeks, it seems pointless to start at UO, go right to DA and get in line for Gringotts, as by then (9-930), the wait will be 120-200 minutes.

We are going on a Tuesday, after Florida schools open, August 19, but still I expect a rush to the ride to be futile.

I ask you if it makes sense to start at UO, 9am, Do the best rides we love there, not in DA, using our (expensive !!) express passes, then make our way to DA just to enjoy it and look around, then take the train to IOA, do the same - hit our faves, and then around 3pm (4? 5?), come back and wait for Gringotts??? With 2 ADHD boys, I know we can handle 90 minutes, but this 200+ is not going to work. Thoughts?

If you don't have early admission, it seems that lines for Gringotts are lowest around dinner time. Your plan is probably a good one!

This is exactly what we plan to do, minus the express passes (so we will likely only do a few rides), and have the expectation that if the lines are too long later in the day for Gringotts we will skip it. We are more excited about exploring and HE than doing the HP rides. :thumbsup2

We are heading down right now. Our plan is to use single rider if it is managable . Otherwise we will just take in the sights as well. Anything over 120 minutes is too much for me.

We are here now and it's between 120-200.

From the size of single I say 1 hour.

My wife and son did single rider on Tuesday. Wait time was 180 minutes and single rider took them about 90 minutes.

i just read on another site that the waits are longest in the morning and less in the later afternoon

sounds like bluer hit it at the right time today

We have. been here all week. We had had very minimal waits in Hogsmeade for Dragons and FJ,in the mornings. But I knew that we woukd have to wait for later to ride Gringotts in DA. Today we went straight to Olivanders in the morning, explored DA, then rode MIB and Mummy and watched some shows. It started to pour at 2 so we got into the single rider line at Gringotts. It didn't move much for about 45 minutes but then it started to move quickly. We were out in about 75 minutes total. Now iif could ride that Minion ride I would be set.

We will be there the exact same days! I asked basically this same question and was told to hit Hogsmeade first thing and then head to DA later in the day!! We can't afford Express (even with my sister's team member discount) so we will have to do as much as we can single rider or just waiting!

Hope you have an awesome time!!

Our strategy was perfect. I feel sorry for all those who just get in line for 2, 3, and sometimes 5 hours. You must resist the urge to run to DA right away and get in line. It's a bad strategy and kills the day.

My plan was so good, I swear Touring Plans has taken it. I posted a trip report last week. We got on Gringotts in 10 minutes the first time, and 20 the second, by using single rider at about 230pm. When we got off the first time, a guy told me he was in line since 0930 (5 hours) because it broke down in the morning.

1 day, both parks, all the best rides, a full hour in Diagon Alley, not counting the time to ride EFG. :goodvibes

Crowds seem to be pretty low today. Wait time for Gringotts was around 45 minutes at 11 am.
