phamton said:Universal isn't Disney. I watch the boards all the time and hear people crying about when are the hours coming out for November, etc. Universal has their hours out a year at a time. You don't have to wait for months to find out when they will be closed. The calendar is done yearly. Universal doesn't announce the dates for Grinchmas, Halloween Horror Nights, and Mardi Gras until a few months before the event.
The reason is because very few people plan their vacation specifically to attend Grinchmas. Many people plan their Disney vacation specifically for an event like Mickey's Christmas. Disney's events are seperately ticketed events while most of Universal are not (except for HHN and Rock the Universe.) Universal events are included in the regular park ticket. It is just an extra event that is free for guests not somthing that is planned months in advance that people have to purchase tickets for. Since there is no need to purchase tickets for Grincmas, there is not a pressing need to announce the dates. The overwhelming majority of guests who travel to Universal during Christmas know nothing about Grincmas or the Macy's parade and it is a pleasant surprise.
Well said, we love Universal at Christmas!
