hi i have never been to universal or islands of adventure but after seeing the commercials for Grinchmas wish i had enough money in my budget this year to go(we are going to disney) anyway i was wondering if they do this every year so next year i can plan to go???also is there much to do for a 4 year old boy at both these parks or is it basically for older kids...asking because AAA south is offering annual passes for $99.95 and was wondering if it would be worth it and if my 4 yr would have enough to enjoy there..thanks for any input..kmc

Grinchmas is an annual event now. Universal has stuff for 4 year olds, but IOA may have too many height limits for a 4 year old to be able to go on much. I'm not real sure, but maybe in a couple years it would be more enjoyable for a, say, 6 year old to enjoy both parks.

There is plenty to do as a 4 year old at IOA:
1: there is Grinchmas
2: there is all of Suessland, with a carosel, the cat in the hat ride, the if i owned the zoo playland for kids both young and old, the one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish ride.
3: Dr Suess book store and souviner store.
4: Character appearences by Cat in the Hat, Sam I Am, Thing 1 and 2 and others.
5: there is camp jurassic in jurassic park island with petrodon flyers, a cave maze, intresting trails and water cannons.
6: the mystic fountain in the lost continent.
7: the 8th voyage of sinbad show.
8: flying unicorn kids roller coaster
9: jurassic park discovery center with a lot of things for kids on the lower level.
10: looney tunes land with all the characters.
11: marvel super hero island and all the characters

I would say you can occupy a 4 year old for the better part of a day:bounce:

I have a 4 year old and an 8 year old. They both love IOA. Totally agree with MIB9's suggestions and would like to add a few:)

1.The Me Ship Olive lots of interactive fun.
2.My 4 year old was able to ride Popeyes bilge rat barge and loved it!
3.Triceratops Encounter (when it reopens)
4.Jurassic Park River Adventure (thrilling) he loved it!
5.Posedion's show
6.Spiderman (just have to be 40") his favorite ride now that he has been on so many times.

There isnt much of a difference between what my 4 and 8 year old can enjoy until my 8 year old gets a little taller! Than its coaster time!:bounce:

I do have a tip...if its warm outdoors they will be able to enjoy this park more! Lots of water options:) We always seem to end op soaking wet...love it! Make sure you visit the mystic fountain a 4 year olds fantasy! okay...mine too:)

Also very much depends on your 4 year olds likes. Regardless there is plenty to explore, do and see:) Have Fun!

Ok, maybe there is a lot to do. I just haven't been there with any 4 year olds, so I was just speculating.;)

thanks alot there does seem to be alot for my son to do over there..he is pretty eay to please and love to explore-i think he will really enjoy the interactive play areas

Thanks for watching my back JessicaR. :D

You know, when i sit and think about it IOA is for all ages and there are many things there to keep your intrest for the whole day regardless of your age. It is definately not a "COASTER PARK" only.

:smooth:
