Grills at Disney resorts?

Can any posters confirm that some Disney resorts have grills(for guest use)? I know that Fort Wilderness does, but our Boy Scout troop is now staying at an All-Star resort instead of camping, and we had planned on grilling dinner one or two evenings. I assume we could still go to Fort Wilderness and use the grills by the pool(since we will be WDW guests). Do any other resorts have grills? I think I saw one by the quiet pool at the Boardwalk Villas once, but that's the only one I remember.Thanks, guys!

I don't recall ever seeing a grill at any of the resorts.

There were no grills at ASMovies last year that I saw.

I have not seen any grills at any of the Value Resorts, the Swan/Dolphin, or when walking through the Beach Club/Yacht Club area.

Don't count on being able to grill at Fort Wilderness if you are not staying there. I would call ahead of time and if a CM tells you it's OK, make sure you get the CM's name.

If I remember correctly, I think there's a hibachi type grill by the quiet pool at Beach Club Villas (I could be wrong though...wouldn't be the 1st time).

The BWV and BCV both have grills that are for the use of guests of those resors. They are not public grills for the use of anyone. DVC Resorts are owned by the DVC members, and the members dues pay for things like the grills and tables, etc. As an owner, I don't welcome people who are not staying at the resort to use amenities such as the grill, pool, and other non-revenue producing activites. I'm sure I'm not the only one.


My guess is that Fort Wilderness Grills are also only for the use of FW guests, not the general public.

I can confirm there are no grills at PO. You are welcome to use the amenities that are located at your resort, not at all resorts. To me, it would seem like a major hassle lugging everything to another resort anyway.

There were grilling in the corridors at ASMu last Sept. Of course this was the day hurricane Jeanne blew through the World. Nothing was open and a lot of RV'er's from FW and the local refugees were making the best of things. Feeding their families. It was quite a site with all the coolers, lawn chairs, and grills up and down the corridors.



i agree with the other posters about no grilling facilities other than FW or some DVC areas. Not so sure about your plan to use the FW grills as the only way you can get through the gate is to have a campsite parking card to open the gate or by bus.

You could possibly rent a tent site, put up a tent and grill there. That way you would have entry into the camping area. Maybe one or two in your party could stay there and take care of things.

I'd call Guest Relations and ask about a special set-up for your group. They may be able to give you a place that will safely accommodate grilling for a number of people. They definitely don't want grilling in unapproved areas.

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAMPING EQUIPMENT TO USE AT THE WDW RESORTS UNLESS YOU ARE STAYING AT FW and intend to use it there. The hurricane was a different matter, but they should not have been using grills along the walkways. This is just so wrong.

First, I want to reassure everyone that we do not plan to use any grills(or anything else) we are not supposed to use. We are currently booked at the All-Stars because it was the most practical choice for the boys since we decided not to camp(the fear of a possible hurricane was our main motivation). We were told by a CM that "Disney would put us up in a hotel should the threat of a hurrican become a reality." We didn't want to risk it, so we changed our trip plan. We originally planned to grill dinner 2 nights so a few boys could get the cooking badge, but it's not something we HAVE to do. However, if a moderate resort had grills, we could book our rooms there in order to use them. We have no intention of setting up camp at a resort; the tents and lawn chairs are being left at home. I doubt Disney has a place for us to do anything as a group, because we are small by group standards(we have 12 boys/7 adults). And as a DVC member myself, I do not like the idea of anyone being able to use our grills, I was just stating I believed I saw one there, so maybe other resorts had them, too. I am so sorry if I ruffled anyone's feathers. And for the record, there are 4 badges you can earn while at WDW; we are going for the Reptiles and Amphibians badge, but I'm hoping the boys walk away with more than a badge. I love Disney(as many of you do), and none of these boys except my son has ever been. The fact that Walt was once a Scout himself really impressed our boys, so imagine how they will feel walking down Main Street for the first time.

Hi. My son is a first year boy scout( started as a tiger ). I was wondering if you could tell me all the badges he could earn at WDW, and does he have to do them with his troop? Could he do them alone, on a trip with us? Sorry to highjack your thread, I never see boy scout related things on here, just girl scouts.
