Would appreciate opinions or experiences with travelling by Greyhound in Florida. Planning to see other areas outside Orlando but not renting a car.

Greyhound does not travel the scenic routes. The plan is depot to depot as fast as possible, so that means traveling the expressways to each town. Most of the depots are pretty run down and offer minimum security for the traveler. They are not much to look, even in the bigger cities.

I agree with Edd. Greyhound is NOT the way to go. Why don't you want to rent a car? Other than in the major cities (Orlando, Tampa/St. Pete, Miami and it's suburbs, and Jacksonville) driving in Florida is really pretty easy and relaxing. I left out Tallahasee and Pensacola off that list because I've found both pretty easy to navigate and not terribly congested outside of the height of rush hour.

????????????????????????????????????

Pretty much ruled out Greyhound because of other comments; we have decided to rent a car. I don't drive but my sister does & she is nervous about driving around Orlando. We will just shuttle to park but when we leave Orlando, that will be the tricky part. Decided to drive route 50 and route 1, along the coast so we just have to get out the city in one piece (ha)
Any suggestions would be appreciated. If all else fails, we will look into mapquest.
