Grey Cup in WDW - anyone in the same boat?

We've had our trip booked since last October, and only a few weeks ago did I realize that our first night there is Grey Cup! Hubby is not too happy about being away, since we usually go to a big Grey Cup party hosted by my aunt. He's excited for the trip mind you, just bummed at the timing.

Anyone have experience with trying to watch it while in WDW? My guess would be to try ESPN at Boardwalk, but I'm betting CFL is not high on their list of games to put on the big screen. ;)

I highly doubt the ESPN Club would be showing Grey Cup. Now whenever I have been in the Southern United States like in Tennessee the only time I happen to see a CFL game was on some Sports South channel and the game wasn't even live, since it already took place. Plus that's a channel WDW does not even get.

I didn't think ESPN would have it either....it was the only sports-related place I could think of. DH will just have to suck it up LOL!

If the game is available in the US the ESPN Club will throw it up on one of their screens.

Last time we were in their I spoke with their AV guy.

The Bright House Sports Network (originally called Catch 47) is a sports network station carried in Tampa and Orlando and it shows a number of CFL games. The CFL has not published who in the US will carry the Grey Cup, but this channel would be a possibility since they carry games. Check CFL.CA closer to the Grey Cup. The problem with the channel is that it is only carried on the Bright House cable network, so I am not sure if Disney/ESPN Club can tune in.

EDIT: So it looks like there is one station in the US that will carry the game, as listed on CFL.CA, but it is in Colorado.

I hear you on this one as 5 years ago we were in Disneyland during Greycup and we did watch it at ESPN as hubby could not believe i booked our trip over grey cup.......this year we will arrive home from Florida the weekend before as i learnt my lesson the first time, trying to keep the kids entertained so he could see part of the game at least....

Don't forget no matter what location you try to watch the game at be it the ESPN Club or somewhere else, chances are there would be more people there to watch whatever NFL games are also happening that night.

not a chance, no way, now how.
at the end of the NHL season we tried to get a Wings game
put on and they said the did'nt get it.
in Florida if you can't bounce it they don't watch it.
try and find a Canadian owner bar with a Star Choice dish.

If it is playing on a channel that is available at the ESPN bar, just go ask the guy in the AV booth and he'll probably broadcast it on one of the TVs. My DH is a big Ottawa Senator's fan and he's never had any problems watching a game at the ESPN club.

I would suggest getting a Slingbox. If you have a room with internet connection, you could access your TV at home via the slingbox and voila, Grey Cup.
