We are enjoying our stay (as always) at HH.

We went to the members meeting this morning in the GV. The CM reported that HH is 75-80% sold and is expected to sell out in 6-12 months. (Last summer I was told 65% sold- so sales took a dip in between, but sales have picked up again this summer.)

The MB program is still $10 per point for both VB and HH- minimum of 50 points.

BCV opening has been tentatively moved up to Spring, 2002. No news on selling price, points or presale possibilities.

The "Behind the Ears Tour", hosted by Chef Gordon, was a great peek at the history of the island and the DVC resort. Gordon was on the opening staff and has a great knowledge of everything here. He also has a great sense of humor. I got to meet several DISers on the tour.

Fireworks last night were fun and tonight's should be even better. We have a 3rd floor room with a great view of the fireworks.

Happy 4th! :)

Thanks for taking the time during your vacation to keep us up to date. Yep, really sounds like I'm going to have to check out HH.

Doc,

I also took this tour 2 weeks ago. Chef Gordon commented on the Pittsburgh Pirates shirt I was wearing. He said he was born and raised in Pittsburgh.

Say, "I heard you were born and raised in Pittsburgh". Don't tell him how you know this. ;) He will want to know how you know this.

Dumbo

Thanks, Dumbo. We already had the PA conversation with him this morning! LOL!

Since he has been living here on HH for over 20 years now, Gordon considers himself a "local" (not a "native") and has even put HH Island, SC on his CM badge.

If I see him tomorrow, I'll mention about his birthplace though! :)

Sounds like a great time, Doc. Thanks for sharing...I am really going to try to work on my DH to go to HH in the near future (as you know we don't golf either, but I was glad to hear still lots of fun things to do there)

We will be leaving in 2 1/2 weeks for OKW..can't wait.:bounce: :bounce:

Glad you are having a great time!! We took the same tour with Gordon about 3 1/2 weeks ago and he was great. He made the tour very interesting for the adults as well as our 11 and 12 year old boys. He had them looking and finding hidden Mickeys everywhere!!!! :D

Do you know you can get a Hidden Mickey sheet at the front desk?

We also enjoyed the activities with B. Lou Crabbe (Folklure and Music, Magic, Shawdows Tales).

We had coffee in the Grand Villas.....what a great place to stay..but I don't think I would ever leave! We thought it would be a blast to have a family gathering there over Thanksgiving (light that fireplace!!) and have Chef Gordon cook for us!!!!! OK...I'll keep dreaming ;)

Have a great trip!

Now after all these glowing reports of HH I am rethinking our next trip............was going to do BWV but what do you think about bringing a 1 and 3 year old to HH? Any thoughts????????

THanks for the report, Doc. Hope last nights fireworks were great.

HH truly offers activities for everyone. There is a multitude of programed activites for all ages- in addition to all that Hilton Head itself has to offer.

The resort has a large activities staff poised to provide programs for the children and there are many adult programs also.

We did get the "Hidden Mickey" sheet from the front desk and have already made a reservation for "A Private Affair" on our next trip here.

The staff is more than willing to do what's needed to make sure your stay here is special.

Fireworks last night were great- after a slow start, they made up for some "dud" time with a wonderful display.

The beach is wonderful- with gentle drop and beautiful white sand.

Enjoy!
