Greetings from Disneyland Hotel

We are here in the Disneyland Hotel before our trip Sat on the Disney Magic. Weather is perfect... crowds a little large... but having a great time. Ate at Hook's Pointe for dinner last night..EXCELLENT meal. Overall the feel is definitely not the same as WDW. Love the theming at California Adventure much better than MGM. Hate the fact the castle is soooo small. Any questions just ask...

Wish we were there! We'd always gone to DLR - and finally went to WDW for the first time in the fall. This April we made it back to DLR, and my D and both DS's couldn't believe how little the Castle looked!!!! Never thought it looked small before! Think of it as ..... quaint!

Now now... it wouldn't do to have a castle that is as big as the Matterhorn now.

Glad you enjoyed Hook's Pointe - I love the appetizer with the baked garlic, brie, & crackers -- so good!.

Hi, I'm glad you're having a good time. We will be there this Friday and wondering what the temperature is like right now. I checked weather.com and it said morning on the high 50's and high of 70's. Do you think that is the temperature? Thanks...Liza

3. Do they have any Golden Ears att he gift shop in the hotel?

The weather is great. It is around 60-65 degrees when we wake but must be high 70s-80s during the day.
The schedule to leave for the Magic is DLH 12 noon, PP 12:10, and GCH at 12:15. Kinda late for our taste but wouldn't want to do the driving. Besides they are taking our luggage at 8am so we won't have to worry about it. The only bad thing is no one here seems to know anything about the cruise. We asked several people and then eventually got our answers at the cruise line desk they have in GCH. No one even told us to the desk was there.
The overall feeling here is it is a nice hotel, Disneyland is PACKED, and CA is wonderful. Service is fair...not great...
I have seen many people with the golden ears, just not sure where they are exactly being sold.
We are in the Sierra Tower. View of the pool. Nice room...love the glow in the dark pixie dust.

Thanks for the information. A few questions as always.

1. Did the CM at GCH DCL desk know that you were there? When we've
stayed at the Poly before our cruise the people would check in with us
and make sure we knew what we were supposed to do for pick-up.

2. So you do get to leave your luggage and just meet the bus in the lobby
for transport to port?

3. Glow in the dark pixie dust? Where? Now I am really excited

As for the glow in the dark Pixie Dust...it is in the room wallpaper border, isn't it? I hope it is still there. That was one of the reasons we booked that hotel next month!

When we checked in, no one said anything about going on the cruise. As I said before, those at the DH seem clueless. We just happened to see the cruise line desk at GCH. They did have a list with our name on it, but I am not sure if it was for the hotel or the cruise itself. Yes, they are taking our luggage and we are to just meet in the lobby for pickup. The pixie dust is still the wallpaper border in the room. Great feature...
