Hey everybody!
After listening to the Dis Unplugged for about six months now, I finally decided to take the plunge and sign up here, since it sounded like a place I'd enjoy posting to, and absolutely not because I'm wearing out family, friends and coworkers(and possibly even my Disney fan wife).
Anyhow, as you might guess from the user name, I grew up in the 80s. It's also the last time I visited a Disney park, until last year. That was also part of a Make a Wish trip with my younger brother, which is another reason I appreciate this community and everything they do for groups like Give Kids the World. My dad was a huge Disney fanatic who visited the parks frequently, and though I loved the movies and especially the Disney Afternoon growing up, it seemed like the bug missed a generation. True story, I was thirty minutes south of Anaheim for almost ten years and only ONCE went to Disneyland. I'm ashamed.
They my wife and I decided to have our honeymoon in Disney World. I started getting books, downloading podcasts and through sheer dumb luck planned an amazing trip despite checking most boxes on the What Not to Do list. We fell in love, and to make a probably already too long story a bit shorter, I've not stopped listening to podcasts and have already started planning our next trip. Glad to be here, and looking forward to chatting with folks and hopefully helping them avoid some of our mistakes.
