I am bouncing back and forth between 100 and 150 points. I would like to do two or 3 50 point contracts but have quesitions
1. Do I still get the $8 discount on the 3 50 pointers since I don't have the "minimum" in one contract?
2. Closing costs? If they charge those then that could eat me up on 3 contracts.

EDIT: I see that folks think I would get the incentive. I called my guide but today is his day off and I bet by tomorrow he is SWAMPED (and not being the "Royal" customer, Tony is I don't think I am going to the top of his list LOL!)

We JUST bought 250 at SSR during the F & F promo so no more for us for long time....will wait for it to be completed in a couple of years and for the novelty to wear off a little and then will try our luck at 7 months! But congrats to anyone who IS able to buy now!

To paraphrase the late and great Richyams...

Some would say that VWL is the ONLY TRUE DVC Lodge! ::yes::

Okay, maybe we'll buy in. After sampling at the 7 month window sometime. ;)

No AKL points for us, we have enough points :rolleyes1

But I do want to stay there sometimes down the road.

I was thinking of buying smaller contracts to pass down to our kids too but I read something in another thread about having to go through ROFR again when you pass it on. Can anyone enlighten me a bit more on this? We have 1 boardwalk contract now and if we buy another 50 pts at AKL is there any way to add the child's name to the add on?

So, will you buy at AKL?

How many points?

-Tony

I'm buying 250 Points as 5 - 50 point contracts. Why? 50 Points is the smallest Disney will finance, otherwise I'd buy 10 -25 pointers. Why? Easier to give to my kiddies when I'm part of the Circle of Life, (Simba, you have forgotten me!), and they sell at such a nice premium over 100 pointers![/QUOTE]

CarolA: For the $86 incentive for SSR, DVC allowed me to split the add-on contract into two smaller amounts so long as the total was more than 115 pts. And since that was 2 weeks ago, I would hope the same would apply to AKV.

(Still, I'll cross my fingers . . .)

Yes, I spoke to my guide today and my 4 contracts for 50 points each count as 200 points so I get the $93 price.

So if I don't need financing I can get contracts of less than 50 and have them total 100 points so I get the developer points? How about closing costs for add ons??????

DH agrees with #1-smelly!!!!

I'm gonna need a lot of convincing on this one. VAKL has been my fav.......ok right after BWV & WL

175 points...probably the day it goes on sale to the General Public (assuming you existing members don't buy all the new points up before that! :) ).

That should make for 6 nights (only 1 weekend night...we'll be doing Sat - Friday stays) in a 1 br during adventure or choice season, with some points to put in the bank for a 1br club stay every other year, or saving up for a 2br where we bring my parents with us...depending on our fancy.

You will get the incentive price and there will be no closing costs assuming you are an existing DVC member. We are spliting ours 3 contracts into 55 points each.

Well I lied. I voted at 100 points, but I just got off the phone with my guide and I bought 150. I am taking the developer's points and using them to upgrade my summer trip from a studio to a one bedroom. I really wasn't looking forward to 9 days in a studio with four people. Now our December trip gets to be at AKL. :cool1:  :cool1:

I voted "other" because it looks to me like 55 might be the best for us as an add-on. I always said we had enough with 380, but AKV has me thinking I might need some more. Right now we are in wait and see mode. It could be that reserving a night here or there at the 7 month window might satisfy us, since we have only used AKL as a first night option in the past.

It depends. The $5.00 or so per point dues are a factor that I would like to avoid. And I think it will be easy for us to trade in at 7 months since it will be a large resort. So maybe no purchase. Otherwise I will probably buy enough for five week nights in a one bedroom during choice season.

Hi there, I posted this as a seperate thread but have not gotten any responses so I thought I'd offer up my dilemma here.

I just can't seem to make up my mind which to do. It would be either an additional 30 pts at BWV bringing our total there to 200, or 50 at AKV.

Every time I call my guide he seems to be encouraging BWV instead, saying that I should be able to book at AKV at the 7 mth window (not this year of course).

Any advice?:confused3
