Green Ears & Location Question

This is going to be our first time camping at the Fort Wilderness and my first time camping period. From what i'v read it seems you all love camping there. Is the green ears a symbol to show that your from the disboards fourm? Also, were staying in a tent site so which location is better 1500 or 2200 and why? I know one has a canal in the back of it can you catch fish in it?

The green ears are a form of letting other friends know that they are at the Fort . When you put your ears out, it means "I'm here, your welcome to stop and visit, have a beer/tea/etc. It means we like meeting folk who are fun loving, out going, and have the same love of the Fort/Disney and camping as you. it's pretty much a way of life for Fort campers.The ears are meant as a way to locate fellow Fort loving people.

No, the green ears are not just to signify that a person makes post on the Dis Boards. How ever, it seems that the ears have been highjacked over the last year to signify that fact.

If you don't want me as company, or want me knocking at your door/tent flap,,don't put up the ears.

Both loops have a canal behind some of the sites. 1500 is the smaller of the 2, but smack dab in the middle of the fun - right across the street and a very short walk to Meadows complex. 2200 is more remote. I wouldn't say one is better than the other - it's all about what your preference is.

FYI, the 2200 loop is not a partial (tent) loop...the 2200 loop is a cabin loop. You are thinking of the 2000 loop which is the partial (tent) loop. The 2000 loop is more remote and the larger of the two tent loops.
