I usually make green bean casserole with canned green beans, but like the taste of frozen so much better. My question is, should I cook the beans first before assembling, or will the oven be enough to cook them when together with the other ingredients? Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving! :)

I think you could leave them frozen. I have a similar vegetable recipe that uses frozen veggies.

I usually leave mine frozen and just let the oven warm them through. I think it coats the beans better to mix everything up while they are cold.

Happy Turkey Day!!!

Do not cook the frozen beans first....just make sure they are thawed, rinsed and somewhat dry. Then mix them with the soup, milk, pepper, etc.

I assume you're making the campbell's recipe with the mushroom soup and dried onion rings??

I always use frozen green beans - I just let them thaw and drain them before assembling the casserole.

Yes, that's the one. Thanks everyone for the quick replies, and glad you all agree! :)

Happy to help. That recipe is my all time favorite! Have a nice holiday!
