I'm considering taking my daughter on the Greece trip-just us 2 girls. She's 17. Any safety concerns in regard to women traveling alone to that area w/ ABD?

My next question is about pacing--I'm worried I won't be able to keep up. I have nerve damage and if it acts up, well, it slows me way down. Is it possible to hang back and skip events on the itinerary if needed?

Last question--it seems very whirlwind. Is it? Or does it just look that way on paper?

I really want to take her. She'd love it. I'm just really worried I won't be able to physically keep up. Any tips or insights would be amazing. Ty!

I haven't done the Greece trip (it does look amazing, doesn't it?), but I can answer the pacing question. As long as you inform the guides that you won't be participating in a group activity (they always keep a running head count!), then you're welcome to kick back and relax or do your own thing. The only time that might not be possible is on a transit day when you're going from one city to the next, as the group travels as one on those days.

The Greece trip is fabulous!! ABDs in general do tend to be a bit hectic, but this one is not that bad. I actually felt it was very well paced. There are periods where you are in transit where you can relax, and some on your own down time, too. As AquamarineSteph said, as long as you let the Adventure Guides know, they'll work with you to figure out what you can or can't do, and arrange things if a flare-up occurs unexpectedly. There are some activities that are a bit much, like the volcano hike, but you get there on a "pirate ship", and we had a few people who just hung out on the boat while we hiked.

Another nice thing about this trip is there are some very nice hotels used on it (especially the Porto Elounda on Crete) so they'd be very nice to relax at if you do need to hang back at some point. And also, if you do need some down time, your daughter can still participate with the rest of the group. So you won't feel like it's holding her back at all.
