Great Wolf Lodge Grapevine

How is it I've never heard of this place?!?!? Have you been there? Is it really great? I have 4-year-old and 1-year-old boys. Disney isn't in our budget this year, and this looks like it could be a good short vacation alternative for us.

I went to the one in the Wisconsin Dells years ago with my parents. It was a really neat environment and the indoor waterpark was a lot of fun. I'd plan on finding activities outside of the hotel, though, to fill your days.

I live about 10 minutes from Great Wolf - Grapevine. From the outside it is a really beautiful hotel. I would like to visit for a weekend but the rates are really high.

There are a ton of other things to do within a 30 minute drive if you need to fill in time. There is Grapevine Mills Mall (like Katy Mills), The Gaylord Texan, Six Flags, Cowboys stadium, Texas Rangers, tons of museums, train rides, and on and on.

We have been to the one in Traverse City Michigan many times. Its fun for everyone, but expensive. The restaurants are good but again expensive. I think GWL runs some pretty good deal this time of the year.

Lots of fun. Very family oriented, which means lots of kids are also running semi-amok throughout the facility. Rooms are really cool, but they are tall and echo.

Go in the summer, when the outdoors is open, otherwise, I don't think you would have enough of the smaller children's facilities to occupy your children for more than a day.

The thing we didn't like about the facility is that we did not like any of their food choices. The restaurants, IMO, are not good. They have a Pizza Hut kiosk, which was okay, but I can get that at home. So, look into the various places around the area to eat.
