Hi fellow Disney fans,
I am a regular lurker, but have never posted on the Disboards. A short introduction, I am a 34 year old male, married and have visited lots of Disney parks in my life. I currently have a Disneyland Paris Dream pass and live about a 5 hour drive away and visit about 4-5 times a year.
I just went to Disneyland Paris this past weekend, and did a solo trip. Usually my wife comes along, but she didn't want to do a trip for just the weekend, usually we stay more then 1 night and I had to get my Disney fix, hence the solo trip. It was a great weekend. I didn't take any pictures, but wanted to share the highs and lows:
Highs
- When checking in at Sante Fe, they told me I was a VIP guest (probably because we come often) and that I didn't have to pick a breakfast time, but just show up at the reception when I wanted to have breakfast. I did this on Sunday, and the lady at the reception escorted me through the exit into La Cantina for breakfast. That was great, since there was a long line! Breakfast was good to, with fruit and yoghurt.
- Disney Dreams of course! I sat down an hour before showtime in the middle of Central Plaze, right before the castle. Everyone was sitting down there, and it made for great viewing of the show.
- The weather, nice and sunny.
- Late opening of Cafe Hyperion. I was there at 8 and had a nice chicken burger meal there for just 10 euro's, which I think is reasonable for a Disney park.
- Getting back to my room, I found that the room was in pristine condition, although the room wasn't rehabbed yet to Cars style. They put some chocolate coins on the table, and a box which included tea bags, mickey cookies, and 2 small bottles of water. Also in the bathroom I found shampoo and 2 small soaps. I usually don't get all this extra stuff, so it was nice to get the VIP treatment
- The crowds where very managable.
- Bought the 20 year DLP book at the Animation store in the Studios. They told me it was the last one they had, I had to take the book that was displayed. I don't know if they have some more at the other stores, this was the only store I looked for the book.
- All the rides looked in good shape to me.
Lows:
- Check in for Santa Fe was slow. I checked in at 12, and there wheren't enough cast members to check in the people. Waited for 30 minutes, and in the evening for another 15 minutes to pick up the room key since the room wasn't ready at 12.
Overall a great weekend and look forward to going back in August.
