great tip causes guilt?

I'm sure a lot of you have heard the tip "go left" to save time. Oh my, is it true! I have often saved time by going left on attractions, even at counter service restaurants.

Now my question is- sometimes there is absolutely no one else going left, (mostly there are at least a few, but not always) and when they see *me* going left, they get angry that I am cutting. I don't want to spoil their vacation. I would like to save time, but I feel guilty just breezing on in and I don't want to start a fight with someone who had too many beers, just got a sunburn, is out 5000 for this vacation, and thinks I'm cutting him in line!

Some people don't know a line is supposed to form on either side of the podium and there could be a line of 10 people on one side and no one on the left. Would you get in the "wrong"/ right line or the "right" left line? Has anyone experienced this problem?

Now that right there is a great tip in itself LOL.

If you know there is supposed to be a left line as well then there is nothing wrong with it. It's only a matter of time before the line builds that someone else will go to that left line, and once that happens the flood gates will open and you will be stuck behind all those people.

Hopefully you haven't had too much to drink and remembered your sun screen at that point. Then again you will be more angry with yourself for not doing so.

Nope I don't feel guilty about using the line with less people in it--everyone has a chance to use that line if they choose not to that's their issue. HOWEVER I do get annoyed when I am going down a line and people see my group, the lightbulb comes on and they realize that is also a line and they jump into it over/under ropes/across bars, etc. But then--they were "in front" of me anyway so why worry.

Whenever I order from counterservice and see that one side is empty, of course I go to that side! But in order to avoid any nastiness, I just ask the CM manning the register in a friendly but loud enough voice for folks to hear, "There's two lines, right?" People get a clue after that.

I almost always choose the left lane as I'm left-handed. I've never had anyone accuse me of cutting in line, but have had folks follow on saying that they didn't realise that there were two lines! Seems that being a lefty can sometimes make you a trend-setter!

I think there is nothing to feel guilty about - if everyone did their research they would know that the left line is usually shorter, they'd also be aware of things like fast pass - no guilt here

Never feel guilty for being smarter or better educated on a particular topic than someone else. Odds are, they're better at something than you.

A bigger question is when you're at a store in line and they open a new line next to you. You're last in line, but the people ahead of you make no move. Do you tell the one in front of you to go ahead, or just wait a second or 2 then make your move??
