Hello first time to US area and on our last night I wanted to do a nice restaurant for DD11 and DH. Any good recommendations or a place where I can see my choices? We have a rental car and will have been to disney for 8 days and US 3. So hoping to keep it more towards the Universal area. City Walk? Anything else near and around universal studios? One of the hotels have a favorite? Nothing super CRAZY expensive - we aren't big foodies but something for sure GOOD with a nice atmosphere...THANK YOU!:worship:

Perhaps Margaritaville in Citywalk? It is a very fun environment for an 11 year old.

I looked at menus, etc. and Mama Dellas at Portofino looked good. any reviews out there on that one?:goodvibes

If you like barbeque, you must check out Bubbalou's which is located in the Kirkman Oaks Shopping Center. It's about a 5 minute drive from Universal and the food and atmosphere is excellent! Also...if you like subs, there is a Firehouse Subs right down the block from Bubbalou's. You can check out their website:

Trust me when I tell you...the food is awesome! :thumbsup2

We ate there last summer. Very large portions...yet, very large price tag w/ it. Almost $100 for the 3 of us :scared: ...but, the food was very good.

If you are looking for something nice and for an 11yo (my son is this age), I would have to agree w/ Margaritaville. There is plenty of food (serving) and prices are reasonable. How can ya go wrong with a restaurant that (the whole place) sings the song and the kids get balloon animals?

One of my goals is to eat around City Walk and the parks. We've come to enjoy a few faves, so it's taking awhile (even tho we go every year for appx a week). I have menu & food pix and reviews in trip reports...if you feel like taking the time to scroll through and find them.

Oh...Lombard's & Finnegan's at the Studios is nice TS w/ reasonable price and atmosphere.... Mythos at IOA is better food & atmosphere, yet a bit pricer.

ohhh don't need large portions! thanks for the input. Off to investigate the ones you recommended. I thought margaritaville was a joke from the PP..but apparently not! will look into that..it is indoor seating correct?
