I booked my very first DVC reservation yesterday and was able to get a standard view 1 bedroom at BWV for a week starting on December 20th! I've been concerned about availability since purchasing last month, so it was great to be able to get my first choice!
Now a question. Should I request a particular area or room within the standard view catagory, or should I just take my chances?

Congratulations on getting the reservation you wanted. You will be down there at a beautiful time of the year.

As far as making requests, you could definitely request a particular area of the resort but try to keep it very generic (upper floor, close to the elevator, etc.). I would not request a particular room because if it is not available on your arrival day the assigner will not know anything you were wanting other than that room number.

Congratulations, I wouldn't have thought a standard view any size would be available at 7 months!

Enjoy your stay! BWV and VWL are the two places we stay for our December vacations because they are both beautifully decorated for the holidays.

Wow! You must have had a pixie dust blizzard come your way to get a standard view room in December at 7 months. Congrats! You will love it. If you get an x123 room, you won the jackpot, but requesting one will so limit your choices that it is probably not a good idea. Have a magical trip.
