So Joy on the today show just said that moderate amounts of coffee ( 1 to 4 cups a day) can actually count towards your water intake for the day! :cool1:

Well heck, no wonder Ive been losing weight! Im still drinking my 8-10 glasses of water on top of my coffee because I had always heard that coffee was a dehydrator.

You rarely hear good things about (regular) coffee, but it is my lifeblood. This is good to hear.
 
High amounts of caffeine can be bad, large amounts of cream and sugar can be bad, but coffee and/or tea alone is relatively neutral and thus, yes, mostly water. It's when we cram it full of sugar that it starts causing problems in large doses.
 

Yep, black coffee or espresso is not bad for you at all (within reason of course). Unsweetened tea (hot or cold) is also quite good for you.

It is when cream, sugar, caramel, flavored syrup, or artificial sweeteners are added that it starts to wander into the unhealthy category. If you count all of the calories added as part of your daily total that is fine. Many people see coffee has no calories and then after adding 500 calories of fluff still don't think of it as calories that it derails progress.
