Great Movie Ride Question

I was just curious - I know the plans for the renovation of the Great Movie Ride, but has anyone heard if the building will remain as is? What about all of the handprints in front of the theater? It is such a beautiful building and I really hope it will remain. Has anyone heard?

Aside from some signs and GMR picture changing from the exterior, there's been no word on anything on the outside changing

I hope they at least keep the Chinese Theater façade!

It has to remain because it's the main projection surface for the Star Wars, Movie Magic and JBJB shows. The courtyard is the location for the JBJB dessert party.

The Chinese theatre is so iconic that I think they'd struggle to find any support for changing it.

Then again I quite liked GMR so I'm sad to see it go at all!

My friend who is a DHS CM said that the facade will stay the same. The theme of the new ride is still movies so it works. Guests will go into the movie theater and watch the Mickey Mouse short before the feature (like back in the day). That's when the audience will be pulled into the cartoon and the ride will start.
