Our ADRs are mostly pretty good, but I cannot seem to get my lunch at Yak & Yeti moved up. It is for 2:30. We will be *starving* by then, but since we will do rope drop, we won't get a big breakfast, probably just a pastry.

So, what would you suggest I feed my troop around 10 or 10:30 so we can make it to the ADR? I'm hoping for a light protein snack ...

Thanks! :worship:

wwweeelllllllll........i was gonna suggest the cinnamon rolls at the tusker house "to go" window. but not much protein there.:rotfl2::yay:

That is a tough one. Maybe take the time and have a larger breakfast and not worry so much about rope drop? We always go to the Ananapur tea company back by the Yak and Yeti but not a lot of protein there. Maybe some Yogurt would work.

what about early breakfast at tusker house? that would put you in the park early. and if you have one of the first ADRs you will be finish at about the same time as rope drop:yay:

Y'know, the monkeys are probably a little fast to catch, but some of the other animals are positively sluggish in the heat of the day...

I don't know about you, but fruit is probably my favorite snack, maybe not high protein but combined with yogurt might work.

Harambe Fruit Market:
Fruit Cup $2.99
Watermelon $2.29
Bowl of Grapes $3.29
Bowl of Pineapple $3.99
Soft Pretzel $3.29

Or how about packing some granola bars, or protein bars for the trip and just bring them in to the park that morning?

Mom, stop monitoring me!

(I promise folks, I'm not her Sydney.)

Our mid-morning snack is popcornpopcorn:: and a beverage.WDW popcorn is our favorite snack. It takes the edge off and doesn't keep us from enjoying lunch. There is usually a cart near Flame Tree BBQ

At the stand just outside of the Safari entrance, they sell a terrific jalapeno-cheese stuffed pretzel. I think that makes a great snack, any time of day!

Oh man, I'm drooling at the very thought!!!

Perfect! Jalapeno & cheese, to go :cool1:

Of course, the kids might not think so, too bad, they can eat cinnamon buns or popcorn, I guess.

Ohh! That sounds good.. Might have to share one with my son.

Oooh! My favorite snack in the whole of WDW is the fruit and cheese plate available at the Harambe Fruit Market! Delish! A couple of different types of cheese, crackers, some fruit (grapes, apple and a strawberry I think). SO GOOD!

Does anywhere in AK serve Elephant Ears?
That sounds like a good Animal Kingdom snack.:lmao:

we were looking for a snack and we couldn't find much open. We ended up getting an order of egg rolls which was 2 egg rolls and counted as one snack credit.

No nutritional value but I also recommend the egg rolls. You can either get a side order of them (which is 2 egg rolls) at the Yak & Yeti counter service in Asia, or get them singly at the little truck/cart thingy in Asia along side the pathway.

Last trip at the fruit stand outside of Kilimanjaro Safari we got a fruit and cheese plate. More filling.

There was a stand right inside the African area that had the cinnamon roasted nuts (almonds, pecans) on our last trip. It was a great snack. Nuts are also pretty filling. I even grabbed some for our plane trip home and they were wonderful later on. I sure plan to stock back a couple of packages again this trip.
