Well, I went to the Disney store last weekend and found these little hand held fans that when you turn them on they have lights that light up in different designs. I bought some with future disney trips in mind. They could keep kids cool and light up if the kids get scared of the dark. Plus they have different disney characters on them, aren't too expensive, and won't disturb others on the rides. Just a heads up.

We got one of those last year and it broke the same day we opened it, good luck with yours.

I bought a bunch of those fans also - they made great gifts for friends traveling with us for the first time - the kids loved bringing them to Illuminations. All are still working so far.

Another idea is glow-sticks. Walmart has battery operated "glow sticks" that look just like the chemical ones, but can be turned on and off like a flashlight. I hope my girls like them. I know they love the regular ones.

OT, last summer at Dick's sporting goods, they had 3-packs of red, white and blue glow sticks for $0.25 a pack. Talk about a major bargain!!! I bought 20 packs of them and kept the girls in glow sticks for the rest of the year.

My sister bought my dd one of those fans and she loves it! I never even thought of taking it on the dark rides with us. Thanks for the tip! :D
