Great family wii games?

The biggest hits here are Carnival Games, Lego Star Wars, and Zack and Wiki.

Another vote for Carnival games! I love playing that with my kids. It's all those games you WON'T let them play at the carnival because they cost a fortune and the Barker is hysterical.

We love Just Dance and Just Dance 2, we also really like the Toy Story Mania game, it's a lot of fun.

You've been given some great titles but I'd also like to suggest borrowing games from your local library...it's free! Our local library will let you borrow up to 10 games for 4 weeks. They also have DS games for my DS 9. Then, when you find a real winner with your kids it can go on the 'must buy' list.

How different is Just Dance from Dance Dance Revolution?

DDR requires the footpad and you dance on it. Just Dance, you hold the wii remote and move your arms/body along with it. It's a LOT easier for the younger set (come to think of it for the older set too...)

To answer the earlier questions, games that have been a hit in our house have been the Super Mario Bros game, wii fit, boom blox, sports/sports resort. I'm hoping TS Mania will be a big hit too DDR wasn't as big a hit as we thought it would be, but the kids played Just Dance at the ILs (they have kiddos still at home) when we were visiting and LOVED it.

Outdoor challenge. It requires a mat, but it comes with it. Very active game and its always a laugh (and excercise!).

ROFL... That sounds *just* like the exchanges between DS and I when we play. But we do dearly love that game.

Another vote for Carnival Games, too -- so much fun!! Also Family Game Night, but that one is only fun to us if we have other people over and have 4 total playing. Santa is bringing Guilty Party for Christmas, which I have read good things about, so we'll see.

We love playing Toy story mania, new super mario bros, monopoly, carnival games, playground, family game night three, and just dance 1 and 2. We are getting just dance 3 but for the kinect my dd really enjoys that games especially when her friends are over. The two we still play the most are TSM and family game night 3. When we make it an evening to play games we play as many of them as we can until we are ready to go to bed. Last year walmart had some really interesting games in the bundle they had available online this year they don't look so great right now but they may ad more after thanksgiving.

Love, love, love this game! We bought it with our Wii a few years ago and still play on a regular basis. Although DH won't play with me, because he tries to "bubble" his way through a level and I pop it, pick him up, and then toss him off one of the cliffs. Now when DD5 plays I gladly allow her to "bubble" her way through the more difficult levels. DH is a different story because it's just fun to burst his bubble.
