We're just back from Florida and rented a on the National Emerald Aisle. We reserved and intermediate and when we arrived were told we could take anything thereso we chose a Buick Regal. It took more time to load our gear than it did to do the "paperwork" at the exit booth. Returning the car this morning was even faster.

We arrived at 9:30 for an 11:50 flight on Delta. The line to check luggage was long but they had many stations open and it moved very fast. The line to show boarding passes prior to the security check point also moved quickly. I'm still glad we arrived early because we did see some people sprinting to the gates to board their flights.

I have a couple of questions for ya:

As far as make wise what other kinds of cars were on the lot?

How many people were in your party and did all of your luggage fit in the trunk ok?

What would have happened if your luggage didn't fit in the trunk any idea of how easy it would have been to exchange for a different car?

Thanks a bunch!

For the EA, are you saying that you reserved an intermediate and were told to take any car on the aisle, which is the basic benefit of the program? Or are you saying that you were told to take any car in the garage whether or not on the EA? These are two very different scenarios, please clarify.

Greetings,
Just returned yesterday and also had a good experience with the
Emerald Isle selection and Delta. One thing I would like to remind people of is to make
sure that they print out a copy of their car rental reservation paperwork and any
e-mail confirmations that show exactly what you should be charged. After
walking in from the garage I compared the receipt I was handed with the
confirmation paperwork I had printed out months before and discovered that
there was a Base Rate discrepancy ($182 on the receipt versus $132 on my
confirmation paperwork). It would have been a tidy sum since I had the
car for (2) weeks. I went to the National counter and the woman compared the
two and printed me out a new receipt with the original numbers. No hassle
at all. Just make sure that you keep all your confirmation paperwork handy
and compare them when you check out. It's better to take care of things
right then & there.

We chose a Buick Regal when we were there earlier this month also. It was really nice with all leather interior, and it was quite peppy on the toll roads to WDW, had Texas tags, wonder if we had the same one :) There were very few cars at all in Nationals lot, not just the EA. You never know what you willfind when you arrive--no guarantees, and sometimes verynice surprises.

Sorry it's taken me a while to reply..computer problems!!!!!

We were told we could have any car on the rows marked Emerald Aisle. There were several Regals, some Impalas, Grand-Prix...and some 2-door cars I didn't look closely at since there were 4 of us. There were also several mini-vans, Chevy Ventures I think, but no SUV's.

We had 5 duffle-type bags and each kid had backpack. Everything fit nicely into the trunk. We joked that the kids would fit too and asked them if they wanted to ride in the car or the trunk. They chose the car!
