great experience combining reservations

SO thrilled with a recent (first) call to member services--we had made a half reservation for Valentine's Day weekend with our GFV points as soon as our contract went through. We were waiting on our SSR resale contract to snag the remainder of the dates to make a 6 night trip. All points were within 7 mo.

Made the second half of the ressie as soon as the SSR contract posted to our account.

Called MS to have the reservations combined to ensure there would be no administrative hassle/recheckin/etc.

The MS person not only combined the reservations but voluntarily ensured/combined all the points to take them in a way that made the most sense, thus alleviating tons of 'keeping track' from our piecemeal reservation. She saved us tons of administrative hassle (and I am sure them too) by taking the initiative.

I would never have asked her because a) I wouldn't have known to, b) I wouldn't have known if it could be done, and c) I figured it would be a hassle for her. I was so delighted!
 
You will find that some MS Advisors are great and also that a few need additional training.

For years it was very common for members to just hang up the phone or make some excuse to get off of the call when they got an Advisor who didn't know what they were doing or if you couldn't understand them.

I have to say that they have improved but now most owners seem to book on line.

If you haven't already, it would be very nice of you to send an email to tell MS / Disney what a great job the CM did for you and how happy you are as a result. Disney actually puts quite a bit of stock in these kinds of comments and it will be a good thing for the CM's record. :)

Another way is to wait and answer the survey after MS hangs up. The survey is tied to the employee's number and/or you can request a call back which will allow you to leave recorded specifics including the CM's name and details of the call.

I had two reservations that were linked (two different contract numbers). When we arrived, there was a problem so they had to cancel and rebook the stay. Supposedly, we are fine for all seven nights. The CM at the desk was delightful and got us a nice villa. And I did go to the front desk and let them know how helpful he was.
