Thanks to Glo's advice I got my $175 AP rate reduced to $129 using the TEACH discount! A mere $15 a night more than my previous All Star ressie was for!
Thanks to Glo, and all the other Disnuts who make planning fun and profitable!

If you can get something that says you are a home schooler, on official school dept letterhead, or have special opaper from the state Department of education, yes you can!

You just need real proof. Not I am a homeschooler, because anyone can say that. If I can help in any way let me know!

I think I know the answer to this question but I'm gonna ask it anyway. Will they let you fit 6 in a room at Swan/ Dolphin? 3 are children(2 of them mine, 1 is my sisters) We could conceivably fit into 2 doubles and a cot or pullout. It kills me to see such a great rate(I homeschool and don't see a problem getting my school district to write a letter stating so) and not be able to use it. Thanks!!!

I just got the rate of 129.00 for the dolphin and have a rate of 109.00 for PO for the first week in March. Is it worth the extra $100.00 for the 5 dyas? This money could pay for 2 MK tickets (we are only doing that Epcot and Cirque). We are on a budget but if the $100 plus tax is worth it we (couple, no kids)could swing it. Any advice??

It depends on what you like in a resort. PO is a beautiful and fun resort with a great restaurant and food court. Dolphin has access to loads of different restaurants and acouple of pools, and walking or boat access to Epcot and MGM. To me, PO is more unique. From what I've seen, dolp[hin looks more like a luxury hotel you might find somewhere else. I'd say , read up and choose on basis of what appeals to you most. You would not be disappointed w/either.

Last I check PO Grotto pool was closed for a few weeks. You may want to check and make sure the pool is going to be open. Even with the grotto pool open, I'd op for the Dolphin. The convenience to Boardwalk and Epcot just can't be beat. And they have a GREAT pool beach area.

The Grotto is at the Swan and Dolphin. At PO you have the pool with the lizard, or something like that!

I hate to rain on the homeschool parade, I also homeschool, and asked if this was an option. They told me that unless you are employed by the state you cannot use this discount. It is basically a government employee rate. Stinks but that is what they told me.

The government rate and the "TEACH" rate are 2 different things. The government rate is for any government employee on the federal, state or city level.

The teach discount is for anyone who "teaches". And you do need proof. You do not need to be employed by the state.
I am a home childcare provider and I subscribe to a HOME Preschool Program and I TEACH preschoolers in my home. I do qualify. My proof is my license and receipts for CC Program

I don't know about home schoolers,(I assume you are talking about teaching your own kids at home) I'm not saying they do or do not qualify. I don't know that one.
