Great Delta Fare...Do I book it?

RT from Newark to MCO for our dates (8/12-8/19) is $166 (including taxes). Should I book it? There are 4 of us. I know that Delta and the pilots came to an agreement, but it still needs to be ratified etc.....How much of a risk am I taking?

Personally I don't think you are taking a big risk. I would probably book it. I have travel booked well into the summer on DL.

The pilots will whine, but I think they will ratify it just like NW's pilots did a few months ago.

I agree with Carol. The Pilots will ratify it. It has been my experience that any decent union leadership can get a vote to turn they way they want it to. The leadership would not agree to something if they felt the Pilots would not vote for it, it would be suicide for themselves as leaders (and for their paychecks).

Thanks for the replys...that was my gut feeling, but I find I can't make a decision lately without checking with the DIS!

I was going to wait for Soutwest, but I don't think they'll be able to beat this price. It's about a 3 hr drive to Newark, (2 hrs to Albany for SW) but DH taught at a Port Authority Class a few years back and hopefully we'll be able to get decent parking.

I don't think we could drive and pay for the hotel for much less than this

I'd take a chance and book it. I think the biggest risk is if Delta decides to drop EWR-MCO or makes schedule changes such as getting rid of N/S flights that makes your new flight less desirable. For that fare I'd take a chance.

I booked it....$162/ticket (Including taxes/fees)...SW out of Albany is $132 on-way....I'm glad I booked with Delta and didn't wait and have this rate disappear It's not a N/S flight, we have a layover in Atlanta, but we don't mind that...I hope everyone else has good luck with their summer airfares!

I am also thinking of booking with Delta right now. Southwest released their new batch this morning but they are only booking until 912. I need 9/19 going to Orlando and 9/26 coming back to Buffalo. So I priced within that time frame and for the four of us it would be 1045 dollars- ouch!!!!!! I can fly on Delta and get this over with.
