I have long since determined that renting a condo off site would be the best deal for our family size! I'd love to stay on site, but even with discounts it is still out of our budget!
I came across this site that rents condos at Windsor Hills:
http://vacationcentralflorida.com
But the deals really come in when you subscribe to their newsletter! I subscribed about a year ago and I frequently get emails from them with deals for week long condo rentals for as low as $199 a week!! While they are somewhat "last minute" they are consistant! If you are willing to not book until a month or two before your trip, you can save ALOT of money! If these deals were few and far between, I wouldn't consider it but I get emails for these deals all the time!! Definitely worth subscribing too if you are looking for a budget vacation where you can hopefully get more bang for your buck!
Also, their regular pricing really isn't that bad. $700 a week (including tax, etc..) for a 2 or 3 bedroom condo that is NICE, access to a pool, relatively close to the parks, laundry facilities and a full kitchen.. yeah, way cheaper then a suite elsewhere! We are a family of 6 and we'd either have to book 2 adjoining rooms or get a suite and even at the off site places, it is expensive! I really think this place is the bigger bang for your buck, especially if you have a larger family!
