Great CM for ADR!

Called Member Services at DVC yesterday to add California Grill for xmas night to our adr's. Thought it was too late, but tried anyway. He was checking availability and asked again how many were in party and I told him 5 adults. Silence for a moment and then he said "you are going to have to read between the lines here" then he proceeded to say"you have the 5 adults and one infant with a booster seat, right?" I said "oh yes..thanks" and he then made the reservation gave me the confirmation number and then said "if the infant isn't able to make the dinner and has to stay with a sitter, you don't need to notify anyone until you reach check-in podium and just let them know. It will be no problem". Love this guy! Glad to get the adr!

okay, I'm feeling pretty dumb here. Why did he need to say you have an infant to get you the res? Do they have to have a minimum of 6? I just don't get it.

my guess would be that someone had that specific reservation and was cancelling it and he said took it for her to make it faster for her to get it maybe?

I was thinking that, but wouldn't he just cancel it and give it to her without "reading between the lines" I don't know. I'm just hoping some family of 6 with an infant doesn't show up and find their reservation is gone.

I assumed what gonekin did..just nothing available for 5, but a cancellation for the 6 with infant. He didn't give me the details, but I'm glad for whatever and that he worded it as he did!

My guess is that he only had a spot available for 6, and was giving the OP the "option" to conveniently forget a small child upon checking in at the podium. 'Poor little "junior" just wanted his bottle from the nanny tonight. Hope its not too much trouble.'

Sometimes in the system a restaurant will have tables listed ONLy for parties of a certain size. There might have been a table listed that would only hold a party of 6 (and you cant book it for less than 6). He would have had to make you into a party of 6 in order to book that table. Some of my family got into CRT for breakfast one day doing that
