I was just at the grocery store and picked up a package of these:

These Solo cups with lids were about $3 for a package of 16 cups with lids. We'll plan on bringing our own coffee (for him) and tea (for me) plus some milk and sugar and just make our drinks while we are getting ready. (If you don't have a fridge, grab some powdered cream or a few of those little milks they have at McD's). This will save us $4 each morning....and what's even better, we just throw away the cup when we get to the parks!

Happy Planning!

if your staying on site- get a refillable mug....they hold the same- 16oz...and you dont have to throw them away

yeah, but then you have to carry them... i find enough to carry in the parks, two mugs would probably send me over the edge! LOL!

I bought similar cups a few weeks ago. I think they were Dixie brand. About $2 for a package. While convenient, when I add the cost of the cups plus the cost of those coffee singles and flavored non-dairy creamer, I wasn't saving money. I can buy a 12oz cup of French Vanilla from the machine at work for 45 cents....which is half the price of the 16oz from the convenience store.

vettechick99, Excellent idea! I had purchased some myself, but hadn't thought of packing them to take to WDW. They will be perfect there, I can take my wake-up coffee with me in the morning now!

True, but like gigi said, you have to lug them around all day. Plus, for tea, those mugs don't make sense. I have my own brand of tea I like and the food courts often just give you Lipton or other ice tea brand. So I'd be paying $12 for hot water and a tea bag I wouldn't use. For a morning coffee, the refillable mugs are a great idea, but again, you can't throw them away and you have to make a trip to the food court...

Thanks for the heads-up. I have never seen those. I will buy a box to take with me. I will buy a refillable mug but I will fill one of these before I head to the parks. The mug police will be peeved but I won't have to lug the mug all day. I did that once and have used foam cups ever since (after buying a mug of course!).

I'll have to add that to my packing list. The refilable mugs are great for hanging around the resorts but I hate lugging them around all day. Thanks :D

Hi everyone!

We just got back and I loved having my disposable tea cups. I made one cup each morning and occasionally one in the afternoon. They came in quite handy and it was nice to just throw them away. :)

Happy Planning!

I took the Dixie ones on our last trip. I found that if we made our coffee first thing while I was in the shower, we'd have it pretty much gone before we left the room. This time, I'm taking non-lidded cups. Cheaper and will hold hot beverages.

If you have a Smart & Final Store in your area they have a good deal on them there. Great for coffee on the go!

I also use these for cocktails on the go (okay no not while driving) I mean if you are leaving your resort and traveling to a park or restaurant for dinner via walking or waiting for the bus, etc.
;)

Ok so I will buy the mug since I am a big coffee drinker... then fill the throw away cup before we leave. That coffee in the room is just gross!~!

(before my budget days) I reused my styrofoam Honey Dew (competitors of DD) cups all the time. I'de rinse them out when I got to work and wash them when I got home and reuse them. Plus when I got ice coffee, I would ask for a styrofoam cup to keep it cold ! So I had stacks..... plus since the girls new me so well ... I'de get a pile of free sip covers ! I loved that set up!

But these days I do not buy coffee out, so my supply of cups are pretty low :( . I guess I will have to break down and buy some. Coffee just aint the same in a travel mug for some reason....

This will def work in Disney tho!

:) PG

At POFQ they had these cups in the room by the coffe maker (when we were there in June) We took our coffe along with us each day.
