DH and I are heading down the last week of Feb.
I am not a huge breakfast person, therefore it will be a huge treat for DH to have a few special breakfasts :)

Where in the "world" should we go?
No character dinning...we are leaving the kids at home for our 20th.
:cool1:

My friend just got back a few weeks ago and we had this same conversation. She liked to Tonga Toast at the Poly so much that they went out and bought a deep-fryer when they got home to recreate it! We've been cracking up about it ever since. She said that was by far the best breakfast they've ever had at WDW and she knows all things Disney!

Boma at AKL is by far our favorite breakfast. It is a huge buffet and includes lots of pastries, fresh fruits, and cereals in addition to hot items. It includes several unique items, flavors of Africa. But there is also quite a selection of traditional American fare -- bacon, sausage, eggs, french toast, waffles, etc.

If you love a good cup of coffee, be sure to order the Kenyan press pot. It's different than the regular coffee, and it costs a bit more -- but it's so worth it.

Another good breakfast is the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. It isn't a buffet -- you order from the menu. Here, if you like coffee, you'll want to order the Kona press pot.

Even though it's a character meal, Breakfast at the Crystal Palace has the BEST food & atmosphere IMO.

Pooh's breakfast lasagna, puffed french toast, Breakfast Pizza, Veggie Fritattas, honey yogurt & a ton of toppings, made to order omelets, & a zillion other yummy options!!

We are 2 adults & CP breakfast is a must do for our trips. I am not big on character meals, and I find the ones at CP cute & manageable. You can also request that they skip your table if you prefer.

These are the 2 I would recommend as well :thumbsup2 These are the 2 restaurants that have the best coffee too.
OP, you said that you aren't a big breakfast person, is that "breakfast" food? or eating in the morning? The nice thing with Boma is that there is carved meat and more brunchy type foods on the buffet along with the breakfast foods. As for Kona, mmmmmmmm love Tonga Toast!

Kona and Boma are really great. I've also heard that Boatwrights at POR has a good breakfast. There is also the Grand Floridian Cafe.

My three top choices for a WDW b'fast (sans characters) are -

  1. Boma
  2. Kona
  3. Spoodles

I vote for Kona. I will let you know about Boma in a few wks after our Feb. trip!

My two favorite breakfast places are Kona Cafe at the Poly and the Grand Floridian Cafe at the GF.

Big Kahuna breakfast...fabulous!

The also have a nice steak & eggs...it's a new york strip steak cooked to order with 2 eggs, potatoes & a biscuit.

And BTW, if you order tonga toast, just get one order. It's huge, and some of us (my entire family) found it soooo sweet we could not eat more than one or two bites each.

When DH & I go alone, we do alot of big breakfasts since DH is such a breakfast guy. I am not huge on breakfast but these 3 work for both of us.

1.) Boma
2.) Fresh
3.) Spoodles

I'll give a nod to Kona as well since I had a wonderful special there of Duck Hash, but I don't think it ever made it to the menu. I just got lucky when they were test-driving it.

I think I like those 3 because they offer something more than just the traditional breakfast foods. I am more into brunchie lunchie type foods for breakfast.

I love the GF Cafe. It's quiet, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the breakfast is wondreful! :thumbsup2
