Great BCV Stay - Tarnished, need some Pixiedust

Many years ago when we brought our Neice to the Poly, she had her Teddy with her. She was given the bear at birth and she was 9. He was the dirtiest thing you would ever want to see, and was missing 1 eye. When we checked out of the Poly, she left Teddy behind. We called probably 3 hours later to report the missing bear. They explained the procedure to us. We figured there was no hope. The poor thing, cried and cried, we actually cancelled dinner reservations she was so upset. Slow forward 8 weeks later, we are home and my SIL calls, your not going to believe this, big box arrived today, Teddy was in it, all cleaned up, and with 2 eyes.

So don't give up yet.

You could have been writing a story about DS. He has "kitty". Kitty has been with him since he was 13 months old. He is now almost 7. Kitty sleeps in his bed every single night. Kitty went to preschool with him everyday. He carried it around all day long. For kindergarten, kitty went to school, but stayed in his backpack. Kitty now stays home from school. Kitty has had to have "surgery" when he gets a "bald" spot on his back or paws. He still remembers when and where he got kitty. I too, am looking forward to being able to put kitty away for him someday.

Sending :grouphug: and :wizard: that puppy will come home soon.

THanks for all your well wishes! Seems like many of us have had similiar experiences. Since I posted this thread, a very thoughtful staff member called me back from Lost and Found and indicated they would continue to look for the stuffed animal and ship it to us if found, so hopefully we will get a nice surprise in NJ. In the meantime, she purchased my son the stuffed animal of his choice, he chose Stitch

I hope your puppy is returned! It is good to hear they are keeping up the lookout for him! :goodvibes

We had that happen with a pair of my sons PJ short bottoms. The staff was really nice and did tell us to buy a new pair of PJs, but that did not make my son happy this was his favorite pair of Nemo PJs. Unfortunatly, they never did find the bottoms.

As a 30+ YO who still has teh dog her granmda gave her at birth (and many other similar treasures) my heart goes out to you and your son. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I know how you feel. This happened 5 years ago on the way to Disney, with my son's Barney. Never did find him. Now my daughter loves her Princess Minnie princess: she got on our last trip to Disney. I was just telling my husband we better pick up a "spare" on our next visit! ;)

Just called Lost & Found today, still no puppy, but some of your posts, especially from buzz5985 are very encouraging. The last few nights have been a little rough, so hopefully he comes "home" soon.

Sorry to hear still no luck with the lost puppy. Keep the faith and hopefully it will show up. Good Luck. :sunny:

I had a little pig when I was a kid (cleverly named "Piggie" ;) ) that I held in my right hand as I sucked my right thumb.

Well, we were driving to Florida one year, and I dropped Piggie and she got into the space between the seat and the back of the car's back seat. My father ended up taking the back seat out of the car to rescue Piggie. It didn't help that we were in a Best Western somewhere in probably like Podunk, North Carolina, and all he had as far as tools was a tweezer, a screwdriver, and a hammer.

A bunch of the "menfolk" staying at the motel helped, and we met some very nice people thanks to Piggie. And I am sure they had quite a story to tell when they got home about the crazy guy who took the back seat out of his car to find his daughter's little plastic pig.

And to be perfectly honest, my parents were in general pretty straightforward, practical people, not much for indulging my brother's and mine every whim. They weren't much into spoiling, or letting us kids run the show. The fact that dad went to all that trouble for Piggie was pretty impressive to me at the time. It cemented in my mind Piggie's importance in the family. ;)

Do you have any pictures of your son with his puppy - maybe if you send that to lost and found they will find it sooner. There must be so many items that finding one even with written descriptions could be hard but a picture of a cild with a puppy might make someone look twice or three times.

We also had a similar experience with a blanket. Can't blame housekeeping as we were embarking for a cruise and simply left the blanket in the room. Didn't try to follow up with the resort as we felt this was our responsibility and we would just need to deal with it. Wouldn't you know about a week or so later our blanket showed up in the mail from Disney. I feel pretty confident you will be getting a package soon, so keep the faith!!!

My dd lost her blanket in a Marriott in St. Louis. I knew it had gotten taken away with the sheets that morning. We told the staff at the desk the day it happened, but when we checked out the next day, they didn't have it. A week later we got a package with the beloved "gankie".

After this happened, I instituted a new policy. All personal items, stuffed toys, blankets, pj's etc, are placed in a drawer in the room before we leave for the day. Even at DVC when we know mousekeeping isn't coming, we still follow this policy. (Don't want to get out of the habit ;)

Hopefully your puppy will find it's way home.
