My parents will be joining us in California for a few days :cool1: and they're interested in taking a tour. We looked at the Grayline tours that are available and my Mom thought they might enjoy the OC Experience tour. Has anyone ever been on this tour? Any other Grayline or other tours? Did you have a good time and think it was a good value? I would love to hear about any and all of your experiences with Grayline tours or any other tour company that operates in the area. Thanks in advance!!

We did the Gray Line for Knotts Berry Farm & Universal Studios.

Universal was the best. Our bus driver, Juan, was totally cool! He had personality that made him PERFECT for his job.

We were early, so he detoured and showed us a quick tour of L.A., with the courtroom that OJ Simpson was in, and we saw a film crew and stuff.

He was so fun!

It was not necessarily a tour, but transportation. It was fun!

My son and I used Grayline to go to Knott's Berry Farms during our DL trip. We used Starline Tours to do the Grand City Tour of LA.

Both companies had nice buses and drivers. Both picked us up in a timely manner. I would feel comfortable using either company again.

Thanks, monica31671, and Boomer Sooner! We're all from Oklahoma and my daughter and son-in-law both graduated from OU. Thanks for the info on Starline Tours. I wasn't even aware of them and will take a look at what they offer.

rszdtrvl, I appreciate the info on Grayline. It makes me feel better about booking with them. Glad you had such a great time!

I have done the Universal Studios Deluxe tour and it was AMAZING!!!! I am going on it again in May. It was definitely worth the money. The bus picks you up at your hotel, takes you to the park and around Hollywood showing you sites and stopping along the way at Mann's theatre etc.

The best thing about taking any kinda tour through Grayline is the fact that the drivers are very knowledgeable. They will point out things along the way such as where things were filmed or other points of interest. These are things that you would miss or overlook if you rented a car.

Another plus side to any grayline tour is that at the end of the day, the bus picks you up at the park and drives you right back to your hotel in Anaheim or where ever you maybe staying.

This Grayline Hop-on Hop-off tour of LA looks interesting - be sure to "click here" to see the map. There's a phone number and email address at the bottom so you can find out how you actually get to LA from Anaheim. ;)

I have taken some tours with Grayline and I agree that they are dependable and their drivers are personable and knowledgable.
The only thing that I think that everyone should be aware of is that every tour I have been on always begins the same way.
A bus arrives to pick us up at the hotel with all the other people at that hotel that are taking Grayline tours that day. Not necessarily the tour you are taking.
They then take you to their depot and you stand in line to get ?validated?, after which you proceed to the parking lot to get in the proper line for your tour.
Then they get everyone to board the buses and you begin your tour.
I have accepted that this is part of the process and it in my experience we were at the deport for at least a half an hour.
I think that people should be aware of it as I know that my first experience with it was a little annoying as I expected when I was picked up by the bus at our hotel that we were embarking on our tour. I never expected that I would have to wait in two more lines!
However, I understand the reasoning behind the system and now that I am aware of it and expect it, I have accepted it!
Just a little FYI!

Yep I totally agree with you on this. It is a bit annoying but at the same time I am at least thankful that they pick you up at the hotel and get you to the bus depot and then to your destination before your destination opens (If its a tourist park). Well at least I know the one for Medieval times Dinner and Universal does.

I think if we were to go on another tour we'd do this one, I felt with the set times tour that we didn't get to spend as much time at the places that I wanted to, and we seemed to spend ages at places that I wasn't that excited about...

I am going to move this to our so cal board....so others can benefit from the info.
